Wow today i got 35.3 MPG on my commute!!
I am sure this is an odd topic for a sports coupe. I am sure I'll get flamed too, but I have to ask if anyone else (especially commuters) tries to drive their C classes for high fuel efficiency.
For me its kind of like a contest against myselft to get better mileage and higher average speeds every day.
Today on my 34 mile commute I managed to average 72MPH at 35.2 MPG. D*m,n I love this car.
No my commute is not all downhill. I have gotten well over 32MPG in both directions in the past
My last car a VW TDI averaged 45.3 MPG over the entire 60K miles that I put on it. So far my Coupe has averaged 28.5.
I keep a journal in my glove box of all costs on the car and document all the data from the trip computer on each refil or other maintenance stop. Does anyone else do this?

When the ecu was set to 91 octane I got as high as 38 at 72mph. Now that it's back to base I'm back to a mundane 33. The sacarafices I make for power.

I get 32mpg at 70... with 5000~ miles so far. I am expecting better mileage after my first service.
Have you noticed any difference between calcuated mileage (miles/gallons) vs. the trip computer?

C 230 fuel economy
Well, at a steady 90 km/h I've managed 41.5 MPG US, or 5.7 L/100 km. The fuel economy of this car is phenomenal on the open road. Less so in urban traffic.

The highest I've seen in my car is 35mpg over a 10 mile flat stretch at 80mph. The lowest I've seen is 9.2mpg over the 1.2 miles to work hitting every light and juicing it hard between lights!

My last three fill-ups, computer vs. calculated
24.6 - 23.6
23.7 - 22.8
23.8 - 22.6

Yeah, the trip computer isn't particularly accurate. It tends to compute better mileage than the calculated (miles covered/gallons added at fill-up) number.
