Pretty happy with the dealer!

Hey guys, I bought my coupey in for service and a few problems on monday. I got my back today, and wow...am I finally happy with the dealer for ONCE!

This was what was replaced BRAND NEW under warranty.

Instrumental Cluster with NEW software (version 96 I think it is..)
Arm Rest (had the peeling issue...)
ALL vents. (the chrome was peeling)
new cupholder!
Control arm bushings F&R
replaced stock coupe sways and bushings. (dont know why they replaced it..)

OIL LEAK from left and right valve breathers. replaced oil filler cap, resealed left and right breather covers. (they also cleaned the engine bay!)
replaced coolant tubing.
re-oiled my sunroof.
also service B.

FINALLY the dealers did some work!

Glad to hear the dealer is keeping up their end in quality service...now just ask them to actually fix something and not just replace it and then you might have problem. After the warranty runs out, you will be running to an independent mechanic.

well to tell you the truth, I'd rather have them replace it with a new one than to fix my old ones. I already bring my car to a friend mechanic.

I also have a friend working at a mercedes in ammitiville(not sure how you spell it), in Long Island, about 25-30miles away from my house. He's a real (d!ck) and he said that my car is a "*****ty benz" (while he drives a jetta) and he wont fix it.

but yeuchau, they DID wash my car, but no wax.

Took my C230 to MB of Manhattan for scheduled service twice and both times the service was excellent. Besides little freebies like wash, loaner, one week after the appointment they call to verify everything is good and working. And if you complain about anything they will keep bugging you until you bring the car in again.

One of the best Mercedes-Benz dealers in New York is White Plains Mercedes, they have very good service. I haven't been to Mercedes-Benz Manhattan, but I heard good things about them too.

However, I must say I think BMW has a bit better service than Mercedes. It's the very little things that they do, and it feels like BMW offers much more items in their warranties. For instance, when my BMW's battery died in winter -- I left the inside light on -- they came within 20 minutes and replaced the battery (a direct swap). And very recently when my Benz battery died -- it took them quite a bit of time to get to me, and they came and just charged the battery. I guess it's fine, either way, the car worked, just seemed a little better what BMW was able to do. Another thing is Mercedes-Benz tows your car to the closest dealer, which when I was in Jersey City once they towed it to somewhere passed Newark, which for me was a little complicated to go back and retrieve. However, with BMW from Jersey City, they were willing to tow it all the way back to Westerchester BMW in White Plains -- that's a pretty long trip.

So while I think Mercedes-Benz does have good service, I think BMW has given me the impression that they'll take car of all their customers, no matter what model. That being said, I feel had I been driving an S-Class, Mercedes would have taken nothing for granted.

Just my 2 cents...

yep, it's covered. there are a few threads about the issue, it's pretty well known. I've had mine replaced 4 times already.

compared to my old cluster, newer features like if you left your sunroof open after you shut your car off, etc, it tells you, but thats pretty much standard on all the newer models. mine is a 03 model. so the cluster and software is old. also, during dyno mode, it also shows your VIN, and that doesnt happen in the old software.
