Winter season, whats in your trunk?
Well, getting my C240 ready for winter (incase my beater breaks down or for some misc reason). I've got winter tires in the mail so thats taken care of. I have just loaded my trunk with a hydralic jack (stock sucks), shovel, one of those tire tracks, as well as a small bucket of sand. Any suggestions on what else I can put in my trunk that may be useful to weight down the rear? What do you put in your trunk for the winter seasons?

Nothing.....I am in NY/NJ area. I forgot, Ice scrapper and snow wiper, thingy. Snow tires should be enough, unless you get hugely deep snow. Make sure you have proper washer fluid, so it doesn't freeze....I cannot think of anything else...maybe a blanket and a snickers bar just in case.

What in trunk for winter?
I have two daily beaters that I plan to drive if we get ice and snow. But, I think anything to give you more weight back there should help. You said you bought snow tires, so the only thing I'd add to that is to buy some inexpensive steel wheels for those so you won't have to switch tires from alloy to alloy twice every year.

Nothing in mine....This is Southern California (Ha!). Never owned a set of snow tires either(Ha,Ha!). It's 72 degrees today in Orange County (Ha, Ha, Ha!).

I live in Oregon and we haven't had good luck with people geting stuck on snow covered roads. So I always have flashight, small shovel, jack, gloves, MRE's, water, blanket, parka, hand warmers, tools, fire ext.(second one this year used the first one on another car), flares, glow sticks. I think thats it. Most of the time it gets used to help other people, but you never know.

75lb bag of Quick Crete. (Dry Concrete)
You can get it at any hardware store. WAY cheapier than sand or kitty litter.
Walmart also has a kit for $30 which pretty much has anything you would need for car safety. I.E. blanket, flares, reflective triangle, shovel, dry food, med kit, bottled water, matches, jumper cables, flash light, tire kit, etc. I can't remember there's like 30 things in it!

A set of four dedicated snow tires, I use the LM-25, is the only requirement to make this vehicle as good as a Jeep. No extra weight is required. Mine are mounted on ASA rims for an easy swap.

Only the real MRE"s will do, I am trying Hankook Ice Bear w300 I think? on my stock 7 spoke Mercedes wheels. They seem to grip in the snow and ice pretty well. I'm going boarding Saturday so I will get to try them out.
