W203 Service Manual Now Available

I'm ready and willing to buy the service DVD, but honestly I only want it for a heated seats retrofit on my W203 (which I know has been discussed many times in other threads; everyone seems to agree that the DVD helps alot) so I'm only interested in that portion of the DVD. I would gladly pay someone who has this manual to simply record and give me that portion/episode. Any takers?
*Also, according to this site that sells the manual, it's not compatible with Windows 7. Now that every new computer these days comes equipped with 7, what does MB expect us to do? All I've got is Windows 7 on my 3 different computers.

It works with windows 7 just not 64bit. so yeah for most people they are going to have issues. It is not all Mercedes fault our cars are old and why would they pay the company that makes the software it runs on to make a 64bit version. I assume that the new dvd's for newer models like the w204 don't have this issue and if so oh well. Mercedes still uses xp for all there computers that i have seen/heard about. My recommendation do what i do use an old computer that runs xp to be your legacy software machine.

*And from the way I understand how that site puts it, it's compatible with 32-bit Vista, not compatible with 64-bit Vista, and not compatible with any type of Windows 7.

The site is wrong (My old computer that I usually use this software with is running Windows 7) I also use another old IBM with XP. I figure they say that because all new Windows 7 computers use 64bit and most visa computer seem to run 32bit unless you bought a really nice one.

I can run the DVD on my 32-bit W7 laptop but not on my 64-bit W7 laptop. I even had MBUSA send out a new DVD to no avail.

Yeh, I'm a desktop support geek by profession.
- Right click on the icon which starts the software.
- Click PROPERTIES
- And then select XP compatibility mode in the COMPARABILITY tab (similar to the pic below)
- You may need to play with the settings a bit. And it will only affect that application so dont worry about breaking anything on the computer.

Just checked this with the W210 manual-0n-DVD ("STAR Classic Service Manual Library, model W210") With Win-7 Pro 64bit and it will run under "XP Mode" with Virtual-PC (free from MS). The "viewer" program ran fine in the virtual machine. Nothing I could do could get it to run natively in Windows-7 64bit.
It will not run in "compatability mode".

I purchased the Star Service DVD manual for Model 203 and now I am looking to sell it because I sold my car. $25 including shipping. The manual is good for: 2001 thru 2007: C230, C240, C280, C320, C350, C32, and C55. The part number is: P-2700-203-07, Version 2.0. It is only compatible with 32-bit Operation Systems.

In order to install XP Mode you will need one of the following.
You must have Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate to run Windows XP Mode.
If you have Home basic, or even home Premium you will not be able to use XP Mode.
