Flat Emblem - White Star??
I recently picked up a 'white star' flat emblem for my hood and the more I look at it...the more it looks odd to me.
My friend's flat emblem seems bigger and star isn't white at all...
What exactly did I buy?
Any help appreciated,
John

It is smaller diamter than the MB factory unit, so it fits neatly into the indentation on the hood (the factory unit fits over the depression - resulting in a mark on the hood if you ever remove it).
Additionally, the white star is metal/enamel rather than plastic. The factory units will fade and discolor after 6 months. This hood badge should maintain its appearance over the life of the car.
The only think slightly different looking is the thickness of the three propeller spokes, but this may be a concession required to avoid trademark infringemnet.
the left uses simply screw, generic mount, whereas the DFW uses MB factory
bayonet, all metal quick release (extremely sturdy) and 1.75"

badge ?! then one day, i was doing some detailing and the rag kept getting
caught under one edge of the large badge. because it was of such a large
diameter, it didn't lie flat against the sloping hood (natch). in a moment of
weakness i went ahead and ordered one. when it arrived, i hesitantly opened
the package and pulled it out. it was built like a tank. it fit in the divot perfect-
ly. the only thing i dont like is losing the raised chrome star on the formymercedes
badge and in return, getting a flat white star. other than that, it's nice! hell,
what do you pay for Brabus door pins, AMG pedals, etc? anyhoo, in the end, I
was glad i bought it.
