Rookie Question on Brakes.
I hear my brakes and am not sure on a few things. I tried te search but very little came up. I have a C240 4 matic and well...
1. where can I get the parts I need, looking to upgrade if possible the rotors to x-drilled or slotted if possible... not looking to go big just subtle upgrades / looks.
2. recommendation on the pads and again where can I get them on line?
3. does anyone know a local shop near Edison / Metuchen NJ
Thanks a lot guys for this. I tried the local MB dealer and the total for them to do the work was $780.00 I am going to another dealer but still think it's kinda high...

Go with Brembo rotors (x-drilled) and mintex pads for the front and Axxis pads for the rear. They are low dust and low noise.

If you like the look of the sport sedan brakes, you can order the rotors, pads and calipers, probably about $800 for the bunch. The C32 brakes are nice, says AMG on them and are 4 piston. The 2005 and newer brakes look similar but are 2 piston brakes. I use Duval Motors for online genuine MB parts (check my website for the URL). The MB pads for the C32 are low dust compared to what you have now.
FWIW, my dealer quoted yesterday, $122 for rear pads and $149 for front pads installed on my SLK230 which has brakes similar to the C240. Don't know where some dealers get off charging $780, ouch!

BTW, if you get crossed drilled rotors without getting a larger rotor, you will be more susceptible to warp your rotors.

Are C32 brakes the same in the sport sedan?
I know that SL500 and C32 have same brakes, and I know evosport had a deal on them before. You could probably get them for less than 700$ today, I bet you could ask evosport for a groupbuy if a bunch of folks are interested.
It's an entire kit.

I went with 18" non staggered since I have a 4 matic... Nothing to wild... I am worried on the inside of the rim may rub....

If you get crossed drilled rotors that are the same size as the stock rotors that come on the 4-matic, the new cross drilled rotors will be easier to warp. This is because there is less material to absorb the heat generated under braking. Just something to consider.

yeah - the proper way to go crossed drilled would be to get a larger rotor, probably from a sport sedan would be easiest - but I really don't know if you can put them on a 4-matic or not.
I know that the 4-Piston brakes from the C32 are the same as SOME C230/320/350 sport sedans. You can tell by the calipers, they have 4 large screws on the outside instead of two.

I would guess he can also hook you up with a genuine MB set as well. Doesn't hurt to ask him. He has connections.

I did but they are to expensive. they only offer from what I found Brembo Big brake kits. I am Looking for a low cost, good look solution. I am now leaning toward the c32 upgrade if they work. I am going to take pic of my rims and see if it will allow for the upgrade.
