installed clk grille, now hood won't open
purchased a clk grille from a seller here. now can get the hood open unless i go thru hell to do it since the hood pull thing gets wedged on the grille and there is no way to open it. the seller told me there is some sort of extension but failed to tell me about it before i purchased it. also failed to tell me that there were several broken tabs on the grille (which may have occurred during shipping but is doubtful as the stock hood puller pops out right on one of the black strips on the front and incidentelly broke it again after i had glued it back together as a quick fix).

I have the CL grill, but I just chopped off the plastic grab handle with some hedge trimmers because it got in the way
To open the hood, you need long fingers. Mine are about 4" long, which is just long enough to move the metal swing clamp that the plastic grab handle was attached to. Just pull the bottom of it forward and it will unlock
the cl grill should come with a long, skinny, finger disclaimer.

He got the grille from me. I neglected to inform him about an extension since I never needed one. I was always able to open the hood with out any problem. As for the tabs, I don’t know what to tell ya. I never took it apart and inspected the grille to make sure all the tabs were intact. I know that one of the black strips was a little loose when I had the grille, but it did not require gluing. Therefore, I assume that the damage to the tabs occurred during shipping. I apologize that I didn’t inform you about the extension before hand, since I never needed it, I thought that it was of no importance.

is SOLD
as long as the grille is stable and stays in place. i think it is possible to open the hood with the regular latch. i think the longer latch is just for convenience and usually comes with the grille, but still doable without it.
