Update!
I just met up with jody, abt...an hr ago. and I just cleaned the Y-section. it seems to be I have measured wrong. the Y section is 83mm+ so I think it will fit on the MAF.
and also, jody dude, you have the dirtiest Y-pipe ever lol. a thick of buildup.
im going to the garage for a test fit, seeing what i need to modify.
*EDIT*
the fitment is ehh. the left side of the airbox sits perfectly, but the right side is a bit ehh, I took the plastic thing off from the Y section on the c32 airbox, to the MAF. and it fits the MAF, but its wobbly. hope there is a larger Y section. and also, the rubber that attaches the Y section to the airbox, that needs to be replaced. def.
I'm gonna take a short drive tomorrow morning, when I head over to my gf's house. (abt a 3 mile drive) and see how things work out. but I'd probably throw back the stock one till I get new hoses on friday. or something.
btw, THANKS ALOT JODY, I OPENED UP THE AIRBOX, and they were RENNTECH foam filters! hahaha a bit dusty but RENNTECH! btw, the airbox needs to be freakin washed really bad. its so dirty, theres so much dirt buildup. this project will probably be working on for the next month or so. due to school!

its so late here in NY for a test spin. I'd have to do that on the way to pick my gf up tomorow morning. but when i get to her house, i'd have to put the stock one back on first. the jody airbox needs excessive cleaning.
and also have to work on the fitment issue.

mike lol YES i need a kleeman SC sitting there. the middle of the engine will be exposed!! and the stock airbox is f-ing heavy. and this airbox is so light!
I was gonna buy new filters for the airbox, but wow..lol i got renntech filters!?? and the filters are pretty clean. just the airbox is dirty
hahaha not here in ny. I got stopped a total of 3 times. twice I whipped out the family badge. 3rd time the cop didnt give a *****. then I had to remove the tints because I "got" a ticket. but I threw on 20% lol (I had 35% light thru)

advans,
keep me posted on your airbox project, and specifically part #'s.
I've had that AMG airbox mod on my "to-do" list for a while, and it's time I get cranking on knocking things off the list. Interested in how the 55 Y-splitter works out, and what fitting/customization you had to do to make the air box compatible with the MAF input.
please post pics as you work on it, and don't forget the part # list.
Thanks !!

no problem carlos, as your coupey DID inspire me to start modding my car! but check back in like 2-3 days, as I start CLEANING the airbox, since its...really dirty. I also need to get new hoses.
BUT...testing this morning. I drove 3 miles, car was cold. when the car warmed up a bit, I noticed that there is a huge increase in the "sucking" noise, and on higher rpm, the whiney/throaty noise increased also. but I only drove for 3 miles in traffic. so hopefully I can do another test run this weekend, as I need to CLEAN and buy new parts. I hope this all works out.
and i'm glad, both the renntech foam filters are pretty clean. no oil or dirt stains. they look pretty much "new" to me.

i've gotten 2 tint tickets got both of them dropped to a parking ticket and i have 20% all around but i only got the ticket b/c i'm in upstate ny and they actually give a ****. But in Long Island or NYC they dont care just as long as you dont tint your windshield and have limos all around.
