THE ULTIMATE MOD for '01-'04 W203s CHANGING INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BULBS TO ANOTHER COLOR
I have a 04 C230 SS and I am getting started to modding the car. One thing I would like to do is change my Instrument Cluster for the Orange Look to a Blue or White Look. Just the cluster only. This is the best mod for the 01-04 W203 hands down. My question is how do I take the instrument cluster out ? What type of bulbs does it use ? How do I change the bulbs ? I seen a CLK member on the W208 forum changed his setup to red. I just think the plain orange look looks dull compared to the cluster on the 05 in terms of color. Overall the 01-04 W203 Cluster is a better looking cluster, just need to change the color from orange to something else. Here are some pictures of what I would like to do. Can someone help me do this ? This should be one of the best mods for our cars if we can change the bulbs to another color. Thanks

I would like to accomplish this mod. What are the tools needed to take the cluster out ? I need all the DIY info so I can do this mod. Does anyone know the number of bulbs I need. I am just doing the cluster only.

Yep this is C230_617. I been gone for a minute its been 2 years.Mods had me in ban mode for the last 2 years. Not only me but other people they thought was me LOL. I left the forum in 05. I been on Benzworld and the other forums since mods were hating. I been in and out of different whips. Bought to cop the W204 joint upon arrival soon. But now I want to do some work to my 04 C230 so I returned. Much appreciated. I will be throwing the Official C230_617 Meet in Boston real soon for the Boston people. Anyways I am tryin to get this car ready for Hot Import Nights. Please help me complete this mod. Thanks

It's possible but it's lots of work and you have to have good soldiering skills. You'll have to figure out the specs of the leds. They are different in the switches, a/c controls, instrument panel.

I think the last pic with the CLK is plasma guages that you can buy from ebay I bought some for my W202 that looked the same.
complicated? so i guess this wouldnt be a job for an average joe such as myself?

is it just me or does it look like a carlsonn dash thats modded from w203? look at the font then compare it to the carlsonn logo. is it just me seein that?
