w203 vs. e46 bix comparison, think there's a difference?

Alright, this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=181563, tried to highlight some differences between our projectors and the BMW projectors saying that the BMW projectors were better.

I spoke with some e46 owners this weekend and they said that the MB projectors were better.

So, having both, I decided to line them up tonight and see which one was best:

(I'm annoyed by the new thumbnail feature here so I'm using my own hosting.)

Lights off, just the projectors. It "appears" that the e46 projector is somewhat clearer and more reflective:

The cars together with the flash on:

No flash:

Side by side with flash:

Side by side no flash:

Light pattern on garage door:

Different angle light pattern:

Notice any differences? Any one better than the other? There are some slight differences but not enough to put one on top of the other.

six of these, half a dozen of another. If both have the same output in kelvins and watts.... Unless one might have some kind of amplification in the lens which I can't see. In some pics one car appears have brighter lights possibly because of the camera angle (not that I'm dissin the photographer ) but in my opinion:

i can't belive this. Do i have to say again that both the E46 3-Series and the US Spec OEM C-Class Sedan use the EXACT SAME Bosch projectors??????? I am pretty sure they use the EXACT SAME 4300k Philips bulbs as well.

the Bosch Bi-Xenon Projectors are also used in the SL Class as well.

It's just you...LOL. I think they look almost identical. Beam pattern is similar. Cut-off line is the same. Light consistency is the same.

Wow, thanks for posting this up, Phil.

i'd be **** if it's only me, it's really obvious that my light shines on the ground is weaker than my sister's BMW (not until i turn on HID fog). I'll see how the new ballast goes, if the new ballast fix the problem, i know what went wrong, but i doubt it though

haha, sorry E, I just had to do it. you know how people on the board are, no pics = no proof. I believe you though, although I'm pretty sure my w203 uses Osram bulbs (b/c I saw them put them in at the dealership).

Thanks man! It's funny how both the cars are pretty damn dirty, but in the dark, you can't see squat!
