Damage to the back door

Was wondering if the vertical portion of the door that covers the B pillar is a separate trim piece? I am talking about the black part that is in between the glass of the front and back door. An unidentified flying object bashed mine (missed the rear window my about an inch).

Yes. Assuming you're referring to the outside pillar. It's a seperate piece on each side of the sedan. In fact, I've been trying to find the AMG pillars that were stock on the C32's before, but have never been able to come up with part numbers. They are not black like the sport sedans. They are a similar look to the interior trim on the Sport Sedans pre-2005+.

Anybody have those part numbers?

Drex,
i believe at one point we were able to find the Part numbers for the AMG B-Pillars. I know FrankW provided tons of pictures. I did a quick search and can't find any posts with Part #'s.
I'll check my paper files when i get home. I wanted a pair to put on Zulma's C320 SS.

Exactly. Zulma and I have the same interior and it would match so well with those C32 pillars. I didn't even realize that the part #'s had been listed before. I remember searching for a really long time, but never finding an actual post.

Maybe Frank or someone with a C32 (and the AMG pillars) would be willing to inquire to the dealership (using their VIN) to find out part numbers for us.

yeah, I'll look for the part number for you guys tomorrow when I get into work tomorrow.

To ensure I pull the right part specifically for your car. Please PM me your VIN number so I can search EPC with it and pull it up faster.

Also, is the outer AMG B-Pillar a EURO mod?

If so then I'll have to contact another dealership if they have access to the European EPC since I only have the USA EPC at my work.

Chris,

I think the AMG pillars Carlos and I are referring to are from older model C32's. They changed it out in later model C32's, but can't remember what year.

Drex,

So it's not an AMG part made available to the EURO model C32 AMG only?

I'll look into it tomorrow.

I checked my home paper files, and can't find the part # for these suckers anywhere.
In my quest for various other C32 parts, I once went to the dealership, and on their STAR-MARKED used cars, they had a 2004 C32. So I copied down the VIN # off the windshield plate, and I used that many many times to have the Parts Cool Guys track down part #'s for me. That's why I thought I had the AMG B-Pillar #'s. But now, I can't find either the VIN # or the B-Pillar Part #'s. They must be on the same sheet of paper burried somewhere in my messy pile of Mercedes-Benz papers. I'll try again tomorrow.

Chris, if you could find something out by just checking the generic 2002-03 AMG C32 parts, that would be great. Otherwise, maybe we will need the VIN # from FrankW's C32 or someone elses.....

Thanks !!

yeah,
i think that's what FrankW said.

They came on the 2001 C Sport Sedan, and on the 2002 C32 AMG Sedan.
Additionally, the genuine European 2002 C32 AMG SportsCoupe also had this type of B-Pillar, but I was never able to get Affalterbach to budge on the actual part or even a part #.

here's a thread with fake eBay CF stickers, but later on in the thread you can see pics of the real AMG C32 B-Pillars.

here are pics of FrankW's C32 B-Pillars:

Those Pillars look SICK!!!

Yeah, If I have a valid VIN number off the C32 that would make things much easier so I don't have to dig through all the parts to locate that specific AMG pillar.

By the way - did those Part #'s you PM'd me about help you out?

Those are it! I've been wanting those ever since I first met Frank a couple years ago! I really want those pillars. When I asked my dealership before, they quoted me an outrageous amount of money (something like $300 per side).

Hopefully the price has gone down. Chris, maybe you can hit up Frank and he'd be willing to help us out? The reason I like these so much is because they look so much better than those Carbon Fiber layovers on ebay and they are OEM.

If somehow we can get a Group Buy on this, that'd be awesome.

Well, I guess it's time to go to a junk yard. Even OEM parts direct was up there in price for these pillars.

Yeah, did those B-Pillars come standard on Franks car or did he purchase them later?

I need the VIN number because I pulled the VIN# off of a C32 AMG we have on the lot right now and it doesn't pull up the AMG pillars you guys want. It pulls up a bunch of other B-Pillars and its hard to narrow it down.

Let me know if you can get ahold of his!

WDBRF65J42F200016

Sounds about right.

Here's what they go for in the system:

Front:
Dealer Net 328.00
Wholesaler Net 440.00
Suggested List 550.00

Rear:
Dealer Net 328.00
Wholesaler Net 440.00
Suggested List 550.00

The only bad news I have is that the rear AMG B-Pillar is that no more are available in the Germany and there are only 4 total sets in the US. The front however is easier to get.
