CLutch problems
CLutch problems
So Im driving home from work and all of a sudden i press the clutch in to shift and the clutch pedal drops to the carpet, dies and doesn't come back. Any ideas? I know Im taking it to the dealer but just wanted to get some opinions.
Yeah man no kidding. Im wondering if the Benz clutch can't take the same kind of abuse as my S2000's clutch. This sucks ! My car only has 24k miles on it. I bought it in 05. I just dropped it off at the dealership. THis is no fun at all.

One of the few reasons I'm actually glad I got an auto.
Yeah man no kidding Drex. I think its going to be an easy fix like a busterd hose since there was a puddle of fluid under her.
Stay tuned more info on the way.

Oh well at least I get to drive the S more. But i do think I need to chill a bit on the Benz clutch and leave the double clutching for the Honda hahaha.

I know that feeling bro, but in a NON-warrantied car (my mx-6 before). I had tranny and oil puddles one day, had to get a new engine and it set me back pretty bad (but nothing compared to what it would be with the benz).
It was not very fun at all.
Yeah, I'd say it's better to stay away from the double clutching, but heel-toeing would still be helpful. I wish I could do it (but just couldn't seem to get it right). I guess that's more reason to take the professional driving course at Willow Springs. It's not that expensive, but I hear it is an awesome experience. They have anything like that in Florida?
What color/consistency fluid?

Drex I never event noticed you had an Mx6. I myself come from a 96 Probe GT, same motor as the Mx6. Mine was highly modified.I had a custom turbo kit installed. The just about laughed at me at the dealership when i blew apart the transaxle and tried to sneak it in as a warranty repair. Ahhh goood times.

I move the car about 6 feet and i was right under the car. The fluid was like brake fluid / transmission fluid. It was light and very clear. I popped the hood and noticed the fluid reservoir was quite low and the type of fluid in the reservoir seemed to match what was on the floor. I put two and two together and conjectured slave / master. Im on the way to the dealer now. Lets see what they say.
