My goodbye!

Congrats, that's a big step up.
Definately go for the Vishnu software upgrade. It's well known the 335i engine is very understressed with the power kept down so it doesn't get too close to the V8 cars and upcoming M3.
$1300 for the software, and close to 400hp and 400lb/ft through a manual transmission - YEEEEE HAAAAA!

I had the Vishnu set up in my WRX days, and will soon be getting the Vishnu set up on the 335i. The thing has great great power as it is, so i will enjoy it for now, and when i need a quick change or refresh i will put on the vishnu chip. Probably at roughly 7000 miles.

Sigh...
I drove a late model M3 not too long ago.
It kicked the pants off my car, the handling was perfect, the power
perfect, the interior, perfect....
I had to wonder, WHY I had spent so much time and major $$$$ trying to make a mercedes into a BMW? And it still doesn't come close.
Well, the good news, I'm sure my insurance is less, but oddly enough, the
cost of it doesn't go down as the car depreciates.
Since driving the M3, I'm just ruined.
It needs nothing.
My car needed everything. The handling was atrocious,
the power anemic...ah but the sunroof is glorious.
Well, I still like my car, it's just different .
So many M3 and BMW's out there.
But my car is kinda unique.
When I cruise downtown (Santa Cruz where the freaks are...maybe run some over?) it sounds like a jet about to take off,
with the SC whining, plus the header and exhaust.
I turn some heads...
Dude, you been around a long *** time.
Whats with the handle?
Now that you're leaving, I just gotta know.
Sauceboy? Whats up with that?
In any case, bummer to lose a longtime member and owner to a 335 BMW, something I just can't afford right now.

Quite honestly, the BMW is a different world. You can feel the SOUL of the car in a much brighter and better way!
I'll be posting some pics of the car hopefully today

congratulations on the 335i Sedan I hope to be heading towards BMW 335i Coupe when I can afford one... but for now I guess the C-Klasse isn't all that bad. Sure it doesn't handle as an M3, or any BMW for that matter, but I guess it provides other things. I love the C I have now, but C230 Sport Coup is right, BMW is just different... In fact, the only car I like in Mercedes is the w203 C Class.
As for Sauceboy, your sedan is awesome, but as for me, I would have gone for the e92 as well.... I would have waited, besides you also have an E class... Why so hasty? but then again you fell in love with it, nuff said.

Yeh, thats how I ended up with my C Coupe.
I wasn't looking for a MBZ per se.
I just couldn't find anything that I felt passionate about...
most of the cars in 2002 that I could afford...
yawn...
I asked a friend what he'd get. He mentioned the C Coupe.
I looked at it online and then didn't think about it, till I was in
Newport Beach and wandered into Fletcher Jones, and sat in
coupe with sunroof and leather....
He folded down the rear seats, I saw all that space to put my stuff,
and it was love.
I didn't look at any other cars.
Didn't get it FJ though, wound up in Carlsbad, they
got the exact car I wanted, and I flew down a week later to get it.

Also the fact that the sedan is cheaper by at least $100 a month than the coupe in lease rates, even if both cars are similarly priced aided me in my decision.
Oh and i also picked it up for $200 over invoice [shhhhh]

Also it helped big time that they were trying to get rid of the MANUAL transsmission. Apparently my car had been ordered by someone else who in turn decided to pull out midway through the build, and oddly enough they can't get rid of 335i manuals in CALI. So i took the deal and ran!

and that's why the sedan has cheaper lease rates... the dealers are barely giving anything off for the coupes (even still apparently). the most I could get was $1700 off of MSRP and I still had to wait for 3 months or more. the sedans on the other hand, they were ready to wheel and deal and the wait was minimal.
#44
I am so freaking jealous right now.... but I dunno, it is really a compromise... I could of had a 328 (not 335, cuz I am low in cash) instead of the C280, but then I would probably be driving the bimmer and jealous of the C class owners... work both ways I guess
#45
It can definitely work both ways.

That automatically will make the Coupe more expensive even if you picked both cars up at the exact same price.
Makes sense when you compare demand and what the majority of people wanting to spend $45,000 want in a car. 4 doors are always more popular.

congrats on the new car. enjoy.
i dont know about that, i think with a benz u get more bang for the buck. there are so many little features that u get in a benz that u don't get in a BMW
when i first bout a benz i had just switched over form a BMW 330i but that was a long time ago. and i like my benz way more then that BMW. but that just my thoughts. i like the BMW too but at a different level, the only reason i consider BMW is because they are available in standard and are backwards compatible

In regards to bang for the buck. Quite honestly, i'm driving it.
