Has anybody ordered the Slim HID Kit? If so, was it easy to install and did it give off any error codes?

I think when there referring to bi-xenon kits there referring to the solenoid within the bulb that moves either the shield or bulb (or both) up when you hit the high beam switch in your car. Also a bi-xenon kit also comes with an external control module that powers the solenoid instead of just two ballasts.

What have you been up to? Are you going to get that rear diffuser? I want to get it to see if I can modify it to fit the Brabus rear bumper but the differences between the Brabus vs AMG rear bumper is quite big.

Yo!

Yeah, I did some research on the bi-xenon kits available. Never realized that they had them, just never seen anybody use it on the w203 halogen setups.

Been concentrating on work and a bigger project (not car related), so I've been somewhat MIA. Not gonna do the rear diffuser, cuz it'll be more work than it's worth on my car. I think it'd match really well with your Brabus kit though! You should do it - Custom Brabus FTW!

Thank you. This is the DIY - https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...=1#post2333330 and it is the same procedure that i did. Once you get the bumper out it is easy to install them, you just have to find a place for the Ballast. No problems or errors on consol.

I mean a DIY for installing the HID kit. Do you really have to remove the bumper to install the hid kit on the headlights? Did you have to tap into any wires or was the hid kit "plug and play" ?

My bad i thought you meant a DIY for the fog lights sorry. No you don't have to remove the bumper for the headlights. I don't know if there is a DIY for installing a HID Kit i haven't searched for one, but the kit is plug and play and for installing them you just have to read the instructions that come with the HID's it's preaty easy actually. Just change the bulb, conect the wires and find a place to plase the Ballast's and your all set.

Ahhh...ok...nicce. I'm gonna order the 6000k set. I just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't have to tap or slice into any other wires.

No i belive that screw that's covered by the plastic (#2) is to adjust the light left or right. Correct me if im wrong anyone, but in this pic. below the (#1) is to adjust it up or down. that's the one i did to adjust my lights up and down. I never tried to move (#2).

How long did it take for them to ship from when you ordered? I ordered last Wednesday and I still haven't received a shipment notice.

It took about 4-5 weekdays to get to where I am in Florida. If you ordered them from XenonEyes.com their factory is in Texas.Give them a call see what going on?

Hey everyone,
I have looked all over this thread but I couldn't find anything related to DEPO projectors and MTEC HID kits.
The bottom of the DEPO projectors has an outline for the ballasts and I was wondering if anyone has installed their ballasts under the DEPO projectors?
Also, does anyone have any pictures of the cover to the light where they drilled the hole for the wires?
Thanks in advance.

The reason you probably didn't find any information on the DEPO's is because not a lot of people really go with those and only a few have done custom HID setups w/ the DEPO's. Most prefer OEM bi-xenon.

There are a few separate threads that have been started, if you search for DEPO headlights. Make sure to do an advanced search for depo headlights in the w203 forum specifically.

You should be able to find more information on those threads.

Smile Projector question?

Guys, I've just found these pair of projectors on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E...mZ200252760163

Are they really good for retrofit?

Regards.

i know he's right about the e46. I think the clk and s55 use hella projectors.

There ok, but if you go to hid planet, you can buy the ece e46 projectors for the same price and they have a more sharp and colorful cut off.

cut off and beam width, there pretty much the kia's of the hid world. The saving grace, is that there small and easy to swap into. You can probably buy depo head lights and just do a direct swap on the projector.

If you want some quality projectors i would buy at least a stanley projector.

Click on the link below for my tsx hid retrofit.

You can also go hear to learn more about retrofitting and pricing on other projectors.

www.hidplanet.com

Any real hid projector will be superior to halogen though, so it can only improve your lighting and night vision.

I've heard you say this before and I think you really need to learn more about lighting. First of all, just because the bosch projectors are popular, dosen't mean they are bad. They are compact, give good light output and have a wide, even beam pattern. The color you're referring to can even be achieved through bending the shield slightly if that's your thing. Yes there are other, better projectors out there. The Stanley projectors off of the TSX being of of them, but then again, we all know they aren't bi-xenons.

I dont understand your second sentence, why would i imply there bad projectors by saying there popular? Most people believe an item has some value if its popular.

For the e46 statement, go on hidplanet and make that same statement, most would disagree with you. Most consider the e46 hid projector inferior to other hid projectors out there. The saving grace is that there cheap and small if there single xenon.

The bixenon is not that small and a TL bixenon would have better and wider cut off at with a similar size.

I've had both the e46 bixenons and tsx projectors and I can tell you the difference is significant.

I'm not going to go fight over color at the cut off and flicker. You have the other thread to go back too for that. I suggested the ece version because they have a superior lens, shields and are sold at a similar price.

I dont claim to be the premier expert on hid lighting, hence i suggested he go to hid planet and do his own research. I have done enough HID retrofits and first hand experience with both projectors to give a accurate critque of both projectors.

g35 projecto tune with a clear valeo lens to have a purple cut off.
I believe the new g35 projectors are stanleys.

movie of the flicker,

as you can see the cut off changes to different colors, outside of the tuned purple.

The effects are more apparent and distinct when you see them in person.

Exactly what do you mean by saying "kia's of the hid world" then?

I believe you're referring to this thread:

https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...185&highlight=

In the thread you claim that the auto-leveling feature in the OEM headlights are able to prevent flicker. This is absolutely absurd. The motors in the headlights just don't work that quickly. The sensors are on the sway bar and only respond to general inclines or declines, not little bumps in the road.

Comparing most OEM Xenon and OEM Bi-xenon projectors is like splitting hairs. They are all generally of high quality and 99% of the people out there don't give a crap about color and sharpness of cutoff, beam pattern, etc between OEM projectors. What does matter is when people use re-based bulbs in halogen reflector housings or even worse, aftermarket projectors like the ones made by Depo.

Here's an example of the light output of the Depo projectors retrofitted with an H7 HID kit. My point is, even the "kia's of the hid world" still give of MUCH MUCH better light than the Depos.
