just tell the dealer to browse around in the menu (drill down a few levels) until they find the headlight section.. from there you can see xenon=present or not. i dont remmeber the exact location so this is all i can tell you.

as for the carlab, its best for you to contact Carlab to figure out what version your kit might be.

Taking your car to the dealer for an aftermarket part issue is a mistake for many reasons including future warranty issues.
Cancel the appt., put your H7 bulbs back in, work out the HID issue with Darwin.

Carlabs HID Kit

Ok, So I bought the HID kit for my lowbeams and my fogs back in October, so far have been happy. about a month, maybe two ago, one of my lowbeams went out. The ballast just went haywire, and actually blew out the bulb too. Anyway, Carlabs replaced it free of cost. Well now one of my fogs is doing the exact same thing, starting to flicker, and then completely going out. Anyone else having trouble with their kit? I dont really want to keep going back and forth with car labs every six months or again in two months when the next one goes out. Any other HID kits you all have used? oh, and is carlabs even around anymore?

Carlabs is still around, I think they changed their name, posted here somewhere.
Carlab kit may be better than some, but it's still inexpensive Chinese kit, like 99% of the kits on the market.
Get a system with Philips ballasts if you want real quality, about $400 a set somewhere out there online. (lost all my bookmarks, computer HD fried. )

yes. If you convert HID from halogen, you have to resert the computer from the dealer. =) because the output power is diff from halogen if i am correct output for halogen is 55w and HID 35w. You have to resert the computer. I did on mine

I have the kits from Carlabs for both sets of lights, and yes, as far as I know, you dont have to reset anything. Its just that all of a sudden the ballasts are going bad, seems like they have a life of 6-8 months and thats all!! Well I guess I will call them today and see if they will send out a replacement again. I will gladly send the bad one back!

C32
Xenon=Present menu location ?

I rang the dealer today about getting my C32 changed to Xenon=Present so the HIDs I installed yesterday don't flash on and off. He did not have much of a clue and said he would help if he can ... not very encouraging.

So I am trying to find the exact location of the setting he needs to change as I don't have much faith they will find it buy themselves.

On other posts I have found that there are two places that where Xenon=Present needs to be changed in star diagnose

1. Main diagnostic in controller &
2. Gateway

I found the below menu location which I believe is the first place it needs to be changed..... can anyone confirm this is correct, and tell me where the second location (gateway) is ?

1 EIS- Electronic ignition switch
2 Control Unit adaptations
3 Read coding and change if necassary
4 All Codes
5 Xenon Headlamp - Change to present.

The lights are absolutly unbelievable, when they are not flashing, compared to the stock halogens

by the way, does anyone remember that location for setting the keyless entry sound. (lock and unlock sound)

I saw it a while back, but can't find it anymore
