These are the Hella HID Kit and there was no spoon. I will get a pic of it against the wall for you as soon as I can.

BrabusCClass, where did you buy your HID units? How much? Are your units complete Hella OEM type units with outer lenses or did you do a H7 'from behind' only retrofit. Thanks.

however, you should be a little concerned about brabus' problems w/ the hids. please refer to his installation thread .

it may have been a unique experience. not sure.

Got my Xenon Setting Present today by the MB dealer. It cost me $58 Canadian, kind of expensive compare to some of your guys who got it for free. Now I can start the car and leave right away, no need to switch on the light before start. However, I noticed something funny on the left side. When I switch on the HID, it took like 5-10sec to warm up, 15sec after the warm up, the left side of the HID suddenly go brighter (like the starter ignite the bulb once more), then slowly go back to normal. After another 10-15sec the same thing happen again, then it will go normal until I turn off my car. Does this happen to you guys? At first, I assume it was the starter for the HID have problem. I replace the left side ballast and the starter at the same time, but the problem still remain.

Lightbulb Suggestion!!!

here's the clip on the HID bulb... i had to cut the plastic flange on the bulb housing to make it fit. now that i think about it, i probably should have flattened the metal flange on the clip! DOH! anyway, either way, you need to do a small mod. however, b/c of the way the bulb is, the clip is not centered. it made putting it back in a little difficult. if anyone has a suggestion here, i'd be happy to hear it.
After fiddling around with my HID4LESS kit last Sunday for a good 40 minutes and still unable to hook both wings of the metal retainer clip, I figured out the solution:

Rotate the bulb 180 degrees relative to the metal clip (so that the plastic flange of the bulb housing points down), having flattened all flanges on the clip that protrude towards the bulb... Voila!

"Normal" bulb orientation

180 deg. bulb orientation - provides best alignment

The bulb-clip assembly is *perfectly* centered now - you can install the bulb now with your bare hands in less than a minute!

Also, 2 rubber grommets from Radio shack helped secure the cables in the light assembly dust covers - although not completely air-tight, but better that without them.

Grommets

Group buy for HIDs / Xenon

Hey for those of you who saw my new HIDs I am doing a group buy. They are Hella, made in Germany Kits, 7000K bulbs either in the purplish hue like I had or a bluish which looks like stock MB. The price is shipped anywhere for $390, a few bucks cheaper if you pick it up in LA. Installation is available for $50 by Audio Planet Motorsports. E-mail me JLee765@aol.com if you are interested or have any questions.

No these are not. They are a kit called HID plus which I had purchased for my car. I liked them so much I looked around to get a group buy for them. http://www.importfan.com/product.asp?3=1851 is the exact same kit but I will be getting it from another shop. That shop does not have a webpage up.

wow that looks really nice i cant wait to see them in person, it is the same size for the c coupe right? Is there any guarantee on them? i am kind of worried that they might look weird because everything i have is stock

btw scylas, may i ask what are the other factors that you are looking at, what i mean is what is making you wait before you make your decision? just curious...
