'07 or '08

I'd personally get the '07, simply because I don't like the look of the new ones (or the new B'mers for that matter). If you like the look of the new ones, I'd probably go that route.
I've seen a couple real nice C55's lately and have been drooling. If'n I was a young man again, I'd probably be all over one of those. However, being, let's just say middle-aged, I'm quite happy with our C230k. We got it for our economical around-town ride and it's great (we get 22~24 mpg in town with the automatic - it can dip to below 20 if you're on it, though). I think it has plenty of go-juice (especially for what it is), but it's definitely no C55. Beats the heck out of the Neon we were considering!!!!!!!!

Oh I get it, thanks for the clarification. I think that's what had happen to my little brother's C350, he got his in late May/early June last year

two of the most important visual cues are the interior and the back, because you spend most of your time in the inside... and b/c most of the people on the road notice the back of a car.
all i have to say is that not only the back of the car, but most of all, the '08 interior is hideous: (none of the interior curves flow with each other IMO)

...the 2008 console looks like a microwave/toaster and the navigation that pops out looks like a piece of bread

Personally I'm not a fan of the new C-class, in fact I think the 2008's look like Chrysler Sebrings (actually, the Chrysler's are a little nicer looking thanks to the ribbed hood). Another option you might look into is getting a certified used MB. I got a 2006 C350 4Matic with only 11k miles for $10000 off list and it has a 4yr/100k mileage warranty from MB.

I went to the dealer to take a look at the '07s and they are sweet! The salesguy really wanted to move them. I subtly dropped "trunk money" and the deal about the 3% holdback (thanks guys) and the whole conversation changed. The guy could tell I knew what I was talking about (told him my buddy used to be a salesman at House of Imports)and told me the hold back was actually 6%. I think the deal is going to be too good to resist. I'm gonna go with the '07. Thanks for all of the input!

I'm going with the C230. I don't really need the performance of the C350. The C230 is such an upgrade from what I'm driving now that the marginal benefit of C350 vs. cost is not large enough. I'll be in a short lease so if the performance proves to be an issue for me, it can be easily rectified in two years.
