Evolution of BadAssC230k: Pleasers n Teasers [Warning: 56k=death]

So I've finally gotten to make an evolution type thread consisting of the lifespan of my ownership of my C230k. I was against it for a while cause I didnt feel that anything was really worth taking pics of, because we sort of all have the same mods, so to me it seemed pointless. But after today, with a few things that are going on, I felt it was time. Here is a small list of things that I've done so far with a few pics/dates to follow.

Purchase Date: September 29th 2006

10/03/06 • Tinted Windows (65% all around)
10/07/06 • Debadged
10/23/06 • '05 OEM Mirror Turn Signals
10/23/06 • W220 Non-LED Tail Lights
11/09/06 • Tein Basic Coilovers
11/17/06 • Clear Corner Markers
11/17/06 • Eisenmann Exhaust 2x83mm
03/05/07 • '05 OEM Headlights
03/16/07 • '05 OEM Foglights

September 2006:
Bone Stock

October / November 2006:
Tinted Windows (65% all around), Debadged, Clear Mirror Turn Signals, W220 Non-LED Tail Lights, Tein Basic Coilovers, Clear Corner Markers, and Eisenmann Exhaust 2x83mm

March 2007:
'05 OEM Headlights and '05 OEM Foglights

May 2007:
Teaser

So I know it may not be much, but thats about it for now... or is it!? And just to clarify, I dont want bi-xenons. I do plan on doing an HID. I will not be installing any ///AMG body kit, lip kit, or any type of trunk spoiler. I've chosen the mods that I have and am set in what I am doing. Trying to be a bit different from everyone.

Don't forget, I still have things in the process of comin up or waiting to be installed. Hope you enjoyed

Nice! I have yet to see you around the neighborhood. Once you finish your custom painted mods (roof, grille, etc.), I'm sure too spot (and hear) you from a distance.

Aren't you listed as an attendee for the meet down south. Will your mods be done by then?

I know of the strutbar ya'll are speaking of - Darwin and I first tried to install that bar on my car... then we realized what if you wanted to lift off the engine cover to check something? Oh man.. .

well i figured out a way to do it. screw a [x2] steel plate with 2 bolts facing up and 2 bolts facing down [welded to the plate itself]. set the plate on the strut tower, drop the suspension, bolt the plate to the tower. mount the strut bar to the the 2 bolts facing up [off the plate] and tighten it down. that way when you wanted to have it serviced or needed to get to the engine, you wouldnt have to drop the front end just cause of the damned bar.

good idea, yes/no? they'd have to be super strong welds... thankfully i know someone who is a badass welder. however, with all the thought invested towards it... i never did it. lmao

btw, pics will be posted later tonite.

im surprised it didnt affect the ground bolts. i saw that when you sent me the pics. thought i was retarded and saw the bar simply placed on top of the ground/strut tower. ah well, heh.

Updates As Promised

So as promised here is a few pics and details to go with my latest mods. As seen in my signature I was set to do a custom blackout grille, painted roof, and painted lower air dam. The grille was the original grille that came with the car. I decided to remove all of the vertical slats in back of the grille with the help of a hacksaw blade. With a few portions of the vertical slats leftover, I then sanded them down smooth with 80 grit. Once that was completed, I then sanded out the 4 years worth of pit marks and such. Worked my way up to 400 grit sandpaper. Thereafter, we [my dad & I], degreased and scuffed the roof and the lower air to prep for masking. Once that was done, we masked and bagged the car. After that was done it wasnt long before it was time to get wet. With 5 coats of black and 3 coats of clear, later, the semi-finished product was left to dry/harden. We came back this morning to pick up and unmask the car. Got it sanded, buffed, and polished. Lastly, it was given a quick washing and well rather then go any further, lets get to the pics...

FTR, my dad used to be heavily into auto-body, paint, fabricating, etc, so this was like a stroll down memory lane, heh.

May 2007:
Custom OEM Blackout Grille, Custom Painted Lower Air Dam, Custom Painted Roof

Last moments of a solid white car

Let the painting begin!

Nearly done with the roof

Shooting the grille

What Chrome?!

"2 coats will cover..." We did 5 instead. ha!

Painted and cleared grille during dry/harden time

Roof during beginning stages of dry/harden time

Voila!

Hawt!

Post-Kineda Renaissance

Facelifted lights and paint

Now just playin around

Love it!

Now all I have to wait for is my wheels to come and throw those bad boys on. A few small things to do cosmetically and the exterior is finished. Anyways, thanks for your guy's comments and support! See most of you at Saprissa's meet!
