*pics* Alcohol Injection Install, Supercharger Pulley, exhaust.
those video's are at www.myspace.com/madfast, under "videos". gee, surprise there

*side shot of new exhaust, subtle yet sweet.*

*underneath shot to show you how it all came together*
anywho, in the meantime i had gotten bored and pulled out the intake resonator, i like the way it whined a bit louder, that was cool.
ordered ASP's crank pulley and it arrived in good condition of course, swapped it out today, and totally forgot to take step-by-step pictures of the process for a "DIY" style write up, but anyhow it pulls a lot harder at lower rpms and up top it just screams. very nice improvement, well worth the $350 it costs in the end.....

*picture of crank pulley on my dresser*
ordered a base alcohol injection kit from www.alcohol-injection.com "Devils Own", and installed that as well. its recommended to install post intercooler and post MAF, so i chose to go right up top and since it was all sexy nickel and anodized aluminum anyways, it'd look good. and boy was i right! the entire system is hidden to the untrained eye. only someone who knew the car very well would be able to instantly pick up that its alcohol injected too. the pump is hidden, bolted to the right front wheel well in that nice little cubby hole, while the tank is just above it, rather crowded i must say, but still look s pretty clean. install was a breeze with the hardest part being the "where do i get an ignition hot wire? i personally would purchase a low fluid level switch and have it auto shut off when low, but it doesnt come with the kit. i beleive something of that nature is already offered on theyre website.

*shot of most of the engine bay, the only noticable thing is the small piece of plumbing near my MAF/throttle body*

*closer shot of the check valve (chrome) and 90* fitting (black), they screw into the nozzle which is on the inside of the black peice of plastic.*

*the bright white tank is the alcohol tank, the brass valve with black button and white top part is the adjustable boost activated switch. i tried to cover up the wiring as best i could.*

*as you can see, i kept the alcohol away from anything hot- anything. even the radiator, fuel lines, etc etc, doesnt matter, i want it as cool as possible before it gets atomized. the shiny black tubing is located on the very bottom, very front of bumper*

*very hard to see, but that sticker is actually the pump with a devils own sticker on it.....on the right is the right front tire, its tucked up neatly in that little cubby hole*
so i went out and took it for a drive, wonderful! my slip-o-matic rockets forward and suddently i'm not so ashamed to drive an automatic, since it scoots like hell now! i cant wait to put her up on a dyno.......
...oh, and while i was bored waiting for my ride, i had them throw in this new subwoofer by alpine.....

*new alpine lateral type subwoofers, completely unorthodox in nature and sound great. $699 for that one, self powered, and i have it running off of my rear speakers with a signal converter since i have stock head unit. hits equivalent to two 12" subs and a 500WRMS amp. sounds great in the benzo too*

and that sub is huuuge... so much for trunk space
i hope the new set-up works for you.
damn... i wish i had an 02 coupe...
i want to view the videos.. but dont have a myspace account. are they posted anywhere else?

its tough to see, but the brass body thing is an adjustable boost presure switch, i've set it to come on at about 6psi. i might raise it.

the small relay shown here, as well as my amp wire. i was laughing at the guys at the stereo place, i knew what a ***** it would be to install and run cables in this car, its too well made!!!

simply another picture of my exhaust...... 'nuff said

up close, showing the welds and clearance, nothing too special to see here.

alcohol injection pump, this is that small hole about 3 inches in diameter on the right side in front of the RF wheel.

another pic of alcohol injection pump, from another angle.

When you do the dyno, ensure that you get the A/F ratio's.
I'm also interested to see how much boost you can make.
Let us know.
Rlee, I too thought this was pie in the sky, but now you have our attention.

Do you expect any performance gains from the injection unit?
I'm running cooler plugs (+ASP) which seems to help.
If the injection unit could actually do something for ~ $200
I might consider it.
I think I almost bought that muffler, but held out and found
a used Remus. Is it loud as hell?
I'm confused by your video. You start the car, and it seems to be revving itself, as there's no one in the drivers seat...or is that yer dumass redneck's
truck? I would say start over. It's hard to tell what part is your car and what part is the stupid *** pickup truck.

Nice work. Great to see people tinkering again.
1st gear on the six speed cars virtually disappears, your out of it just a couple seconds after you let the clutch out.

I'm never quite sure if I get up faster in W or S.
I can take off in W and one less gear for the tranny to shift...
it seems faster when the temp is right.
Wish there was somewhere closeby to drag race my car, get some times
0-60 1/4 mile. I'm considering the Sprint booster if it will actually shave 200-500 ms off the initial response time, resulting in putting more power to the ground faster.
Anyway, already a thread on that, and I wasn't making any friends there, so better drop that. Back the subject at hand.
Awesome mods!
EDIT: forgot to mention, i'll break open the phone book for ya'll and look up a local dyno. is there anything i'll have to do for the dyno besides take the ESP off? i'm also prolly gonna take her to the track to check out her 1/4mile times. i'll just post a picture of the time slip.

So if the aly ki hol injection just cools the mix,
aren't I accomplishing the same thing with cooler plugs?

Cooling the charge can actually reduce the volume of air/fuel mix, meaning you get more into the cylinder on each firing...its basically the same reason we have intercoolers.
Outland, I know me and you discussed alcohol injection before... But I had a new idea for people with the M271 and the pulley kits... If you install a methanol injection kit, you can play with the water/methanol ratio and they can actually use it to help them with their lean issues. I forget exactly how to do it, but when I was making the "juice" for the methanol for the cobra it says what creates a lean mixture and what creates a richer mixture. What do you think...
