wow...I must say that the first Ive ever heard of an actual carjacking...hope insurance covers it, and Im glad you are OK.
In an attempt to lighten the mood and perhaps offer consolitory (is that a word?) story about suburban crime, here go's:
so my physics teacher parks on tuesday evening at 5pm (broad daylight) in the Sharky's parking lot in AGOURA HILLS...thats right...white upper-middle class suburbia, and when he walks out 45 minutes later, his rear axle is bare sitting on the ground. Someone came and in the 45minutes he was parked in this busy suburban sopping center, stole his rear wheels! didnt even have the curtesy t put it up on blocks...the brake discs were just sitting on the ground.
It happens...even in nice areas...well, if the car shows up in cali (i suppose if that guy REALLY wanted to get away) Ill let you know...

The car is okay!!
Pretty amazing; the car was found not too far away and not trashed at all. TeleAid was turned back on earlier in the week (for $200), but the police got tipped off to the car by a passerby. I'm not permitted to give details about their leads, etc., but clearly the carjacker was interested in getting away fast, more than chopping the car.
I'm really happy because I had just put on new Michelins, new rear rotors and pads, and changed the fuel filter, air filters, brake fluid and coolant.
Thanks for all of your support through this thing.

Ohh right, I should have known that. We don't have an HOA, I was just joking about this kind of area. It's certainly not the place that we hear about car jackings all that often.
Just to give you an idea...when I was in high school and people had massive parties they would sometimes put 40th birthday balloons on the mailbox so the cops wouldn't bother them. The kids cars were all so nice, that it was very believable! lol

; lets hope it's in the same condition it was when it was taken from you.
