No but seriously, I have no idea exactly what Sunil did with his computer. I mean, I watched him, its pretty much point and click, with maybe a few gotchya's, but owning or having access to a Star Diagnose is really step one. The one he uses is not the same as the one all the dealers have. It is somehow unlocked to allow him to program things that are not normally allowed.

Not to say that what Sunil does is easy. He makes it LOOK easy, because he's a wizard-pimp.

Yea i know you needed to have that 15K piece of GOLD but i just needed to know if that all you need. Him and the computer to add that.

Just wanting to know if i need to buy any other parts.

Thanks

Hey everyone, a few updates I thought I'd share that have happened over the last six months or so. I haven't been on the forums much but in the last few weeks I've been reading a lot more. So here's what I've added since the spring:

- MCS-II Comand (Euro comand is on to a new home)
- Aux Input
- Goodyear Eagle F1 All Seasons (Purchased from Tirerack.com)

More upgrades to come soon. I've almost sealed the deal on the bluetooth phone kit so that will hopefully be in soon.

A few updates from over the summer:

- Added Mercedes Bluetooth Kit
- Removed Aux Input
- Added Mercedes iPod Kit

I'm loving the integration my car has now. I have my iPod, my cell phone, and my nav all talking to each other. When the phone rings, the iPod or radio pauses and I take my call. My phone pairs automatically and I keep it in my pocket. The iPod always stays charged and out of sight.

Admittedly, going this route was more expensive than an aftermarket solution, but I love the look and feel of OEM.

Almost done, one of the last things on my list is digital climate control. I just met up with RW55 to test his out in my car and it worked, so I know what part number I need

The BT/Navi/iPod integration looks great. If possible, can you post part numbers and prices? I'd really like to add all those features to my car.

The entire Bluetooth kit (cradle, puck, and main unit in the back) cost $1000, got it used off these forums. The iPod kit I got locally off Craigslist for $260 which seems like a good price. The MCS-II nav which I got a while back now was $1000 used. I've managed to get decent deals so far.

I didnt have the iPod kit at the meet but I did have the other stuff.

Active fogs turn the fogs on and off when you go around corners.

So like: your fogs are off, you start to turn, then they turn on, you pass the turn, the fogs turn off?

Yup. Fogs are off, when you turn right, the right fog turns on, and about 10 seconds after you straighten your wheel, the fog turns back off. Only the fog on the side you're turning towards turns on.

I believe the higher end Mercedes vehicles with active fogs have fogs that actually turn as you turn, pointing towards the curve for even better illumination. The w203 does not have this cabability in its fogs however.

ya.....that what I was originally thinking. How cool would that be? New cars have their Low Beams do that too

Little update since I havent posted in here for a loooong time.

First off sorry the original pics from this thread dont work anymore. I changed ISP's and totally forgot to backup all those pics before they wiped them.

Anyways here's whats new:

New rotors and pads all around. Installed them myself with the help of a friend. Took me 6 hrs total. I'd say it was very easy, just a bit time consuming. Ordered from Mercedes Benz Fort Lauderdale. Part numbers as follows:

A2034211312 Front Rotor 104.52 (Order Qty 2)
A2104231012 Rear Rotor 42.90 (Order Qty 2)
A0044205120 Front Pad Set 78.00 (Order Qty 1)
A0034205220 Rear Pad Set 60.06 (Order Qty 1)
A2115401717 Pad Wear Sensor 6.24 (Order Qty 1)

Wheels come off with a 17mm socket. Calipers on the front come off with a 18mm socket. Calipers on the back require a 16mm socket. Other than that you will need something heavy to knock the rotor loose as it will be a bit stuck. I used a piece of firewood but a more elegant tool might be a sledge hammer. You will need nail punches of various sizes to knock out the pins that hold the pads in.

New windshield. Notice the new 2009+ signature decal.

New wiper blades. Ordered them from Mercedes Parts People for $37.00. Part number is A2038201545 for the set.

Installed factory rear cargo net. Ordered it from Mercedes Parts People for $46.75. Part number is B67660061.

Good to see you back Nick! Like the windshield sticker. I got tired of replacing the stickers, since I am on my 3rd windshield, ready to get my 4th. I may put the newer sticker on this one.
