Minor CL203 Part Out

Lately, the repair costs on my coupe have been draining my wallet, and it just didn't make financial sense to keep the car any longer. So, I just sold my coupe to a friend, who bought the car with the current mods, and I have a few nice pieces left over. Thanks to all of you who have helped me (whether you know it or not) and the wealth of knowledge on this forum.

I decided to go economical until grad loans are paid off, so I got a 2010 Nissan Sentra SR. It's no benz, but it's also covered by a warranty, and will probably take anything I throw at it!

Here are the links to the parts:

sorry to hear that.. your coupe was coming along so nicely!

what kind of car problems/expenses where you having?

also.. if you dont mind sharing. how many miles did you have and how much did you sell your car for?

goodluck with the sales... if that amg bumper/fogs was half the price i'd be all over that... but way out of my budget

Thanks for the compliment! I will truly miss the coupe...

I'd be willing to work on the price of the fogs and bumper if you are interested, I just want to move these parts - I have limited storage space in my apartment complex!

In April I replaced sway bar end links and a new shifter ($1500 parts, labor, tax) then 2 weeks ago, an alternator, front shock mount, belt, and lower control arm ($1000 parts, labor, tax), and last week I started up my car and there was a loud grinding sound for the first 15 seconds...whatever THAT was is nothing good or cheap. I simply can't foot another grand here and there for repairs. Now, in all fairness, the car is at 75K, but in the mere 13K i had the car for, I spent upwards of 6K in repairs. This is not including the involuntary modification reflex hahaha. To answer your question, I sold the car for 9K.

So, all in all, I will wait until I can afford a new Benz with a warranty, keep it for 3 years, and then sell it!

Don't feel like you have to.

Good luck with the sales; wish I could help you by buying something.

LOL - the only thing I'd be possibly interested in would be the fogs (have a Carlsson front lip, OZ rims, and wide rubber in the rear [ouch!]), so that would be it.

When I swapped out to yellow fog light bulbs several years ago, I promised myself I'd never go through that hell again, but I'll revisit this to see if there's any reason to update to the clears. I'll let you know if I change my mind.

What a shame. Your coupe was so nice and clean. Hopefully you can get back into a Benz soon.

forgot to mention MAF sensor was included in that repair too. and it's the entire gear selector in the center console that was replaced. the part was like $650, plus $380 for the MAF, cant remember the price of the end links, plus labor, plus an alignment which I needed anyway, yeah...$1500.

ouch! thats a long list... last fall, i had to do a load of repairs too costing around 4k (front control arms, o2 sensor, steering rack, etc... ), but i'm toughing through it and hoping thats the worst of it. i was almost ready to sell my car, but held on.

so far no more crazy fixes (knock on wood)... and after upgrading the entire audio setup... i think i'm going to try to get 3-4 more years out of her.

goodluck with the sentra

btw... its too bad we never did a meet up... my sister lives in jersey and i'm actually going there for a friends wedding next month. if you decide to drop the price on the front bumper, i might be able to pick it up locally...
