Horrible Service @ Fletcher Jones

hey everyone :P

I'm a newbie at the forum. I just got my 2007 C230 TODAY!! anywayz..
I had a HORRIBLE customer service experience at Fletcher Jones MB... have anyone bought there before?
They supposedly have the largest inventory in the world...

anywayz. they said they never lost a customer due to price. When I presented them the price 2 other dealers was able to give me... they said impossible and gave me an attitude. they told me to go bak to the other dealers and i'll find out that the other dealers lied. Basically.. they mean i'll go bak crying and asking them for a car. He said to call him the next day after I go to the other dealer. I turned around.. went to the closer of the 2 dealers.. and not a word said. I got the car NOT AN EXTRA PENNY ADDED FROM WHAT I WAS QUOTED!

I called the manager at Fletcher Jones and asked him if he's never really lost a customer due to price. He said nope. And never will. I said I'm the first! After I told him I got the car at that price. He said.. why are you calling me and wasting my time if you got the car. enjoy your ride. CLICK. omg. horrible service huh. He hung up on me! (He's the fleet manager.. James Sullivan) ANywayz... i totally recommend shopping around *ahem* west covina area or san diego area before you make the purchase. I got an awesome deal! A deal that Fletcher Jones said "Why didn't you take that deal if offered to you?" Oh yeah.. shop around :P

anywayz.. i'll be reading the forum and learning about this car since i'm a newbie!!

You are not the only one. I had horror experience with Flecther Jones. In 06, when I was looking for my car with navi, bixenon, power seat, HK sound, and in silver, they didn't have what I wanted, and told me a bunch of BS that they are the largest dealer, etc. To make the story short, I decided to get the one they had with every options above except the bix. During the negotiation, I gave them the price I was willing to pay (my numbers are based from what other people have paid before so I know it's reasonable), they laughed me and told me that I was crazy, they were so rude. Since they were so disrespectful, I walked away and called South Bay MB. They didn't have one with all options, but they would have it in the a week since it was still on the boat. I drove to South Bay, spent like 1.5 hours traffic during rush hours, but it was worth it. They gave me the price with all the options and still lower than what Fj wanted for their car with less options. That's my story. I have to say that FJ is over charged. I called them for service A was like 50 bux more than Laguna Niguel. So I have been going to LN for any services and warranty issues. They are good and very professional.

2007 C350 SS
I bought my car at FJ because it was the only silver C350 with navi in California at the time. But I'm not gonna get my car serviced at FJ, its gonna be serviced at Penske in West Covina since they didn't give my parents or my brother a hard time. Penske's new service facilities that's being built in West Covina looks pretty big

C230 Sport Coup + 2006 W164 ML350 + 99 Ford Escort (What the heck, it gets 38 mpg!)
HA, thats funny. They claim they never lost a sale due to price?
Thats hogwash, especially since they won't negotiate!

I was there in Jan 2002, almost bought a different car,
they wouldn't negotiate the price, and I didn't care for the
1500 extra for Capri blue paint (+800 for mettalic= 2300 for paint?! and next year it became a stock color)
ended up at Hoen in Carlsbad. They searched the 'puter,
found the one car that had the options I wanted sitting in Long Beach,
due to be delivered to FJ! Ha, so they traded cars or something and
I got it for a grand over invoice at a time when the coupe was new and most dealers wouldn't negotiate, basically saved me about a grand,
minus the 1500 for the paint, and added C7 for what 800?
So I came out $1700 ahead of the other car at FC.

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
FJ is the closest dealer to me, but I have never received any respect from them when making a sales or service inquiry. They must have called me 15 times after I inquired about an E class from MBUSA. I went in and found a car that was close to what I wanted. The salesman was only interested in how much payment I could afford, and checking my credit. I could not get him to tell me a price for the car. He would only read the sticker to me. I told him thanks, and walked toward the door. A manager who was only give his name as Fred, stopped me and gave me "we never lost a customer over price" line. He said he would go "look up the price" and see what he could do. This is the same script that Fletcher Jones Sr. used at his Chevy store back in the day. He came back and offered "free floor mats, a full tank of gas, and detailing." I laughed. He told me I was a loser, and would never get a better deal on such a rare E class. I went up the road to HOI, and on a 59K sticker that had 5K trunk money, they wrote the deal for 47.2K plus tax and tags. Did HOI make money? Yes, about 3% from holdback, and they were closer to meeting sales quotas that would give them more desirable models to sell.

The service experience is even worse. I guess with housing being so expensive in the area, it is difficult to get good help. If they are not stealing the loose change from the ash tray, putting swirl marks in the paint, or failing to acomplish the service requested, they are trying to sell service or parts you don't need.

Here in Vegas we have no choice, Its only Fletcher...but I would never recommend fletcher for service at all. Big service I drive down to Caliber or anywhere in So. Cal...not Fletcher.

I've bought 6 or so Mercedes from Fletcher Jones. The only bad service I've recieved is when I bought my CLS55. Other than that.. I've had good service. Guess I'm lucky?
