C230 C7: Wheel Package has Short Shift?
Reading a few of the messages discussing the C230 with the C7 Wheel Package in this forum suggests that the C7 option package also includes a short shift kit. Is this true? I see no mention of it in the literature or in MBUSA web site.
It only suggests the 949 Accessory Code has:
Patterned Aluminum door sill panel
17" Wheels and 225/45 Tires
Door Handles in vehicle color
Larger Tailpipe
Rubber-studded, polished steel pedals
Different Leather gear lever
Padded thumb rests on steering wheel

The tailpipe isn't really bigger, just angled different. I looked at a C7 and non-C7 car side by side... and I could barelly tell that the C7 had a slightly different shaped tailpipe. It was almost a "why did they even bother" difference.

I thought I could see a difference in the size of the exhaust tips, but I remember it not being a sizable one. It is better looking IMO as the C7's is polished and the standard not.
Back to the shifter question: Yes edvpt people have been buzzing about the short throw shifter. My opinion is that its nothing more than wishful thinking. I drove both versions but the C7 I drove was an auto, so I can't speak from personal experience. I just feel that if they bolted on a short throw shifter- they'd #1 mention it in the package details and #2 charge more.
Sorry its not concrete but I'm fairly confident, and hey if I'm wrong and my car has short throws- icing on a already lovely cake.
C230/6-speed/orion/C7/changer coming soon!

Per the MB literature, a "chrome exhaust tip" is standard, while the C7 package provides an "enlarged stainless steel exhaust tip".
I sure can't see any difference on the street.

The two mufflers I saw side-by-side on a C7 and non-C7 car were both chromed. It looked like the stock muffler goes slightly thinner towards the end, while the C7 muffler goes slightly wider. The difference was maybe half an inch.

MB had updated their web site

think will settle the short shifter question.
