HIDs in stock 06 headlights ok??

would it be ok to just put hids in the stock clear headlights?

has anyone tried that? how would the light output be?

i want hids but dont wanna get depo projectors because some members seem to have problems with the depo.

and what type bulb would give the whitest look? 4300K? or 6000K? or 8000K?

i am selling 6000 K in the classifieds...

MB uses 4300 K in their stock bixenons b/c its the whitest and brightest light. The higher the temperature, the more blue the light becomes and the less bright.

I am selling a 6000 K HID kit in the classifieds which has nice blue hue, but not as blue as the 8000 K its. Although it is brighter than the 8000 K kits.

i've tried to read throught most of the xenon/hid threads. one of my concerns is the error message. i was wondering what brands/ kits people have installed sucessfully WITHOUT the R/L headlight message and without flickering. I was going to go with the HELLA ballast/philips bulb. (BTW want to install into an 06' Clk350). thanks in advance.

it will be good... the projection line will not be as clean as a bixenon kit... but it will get the job done. the kit i'm selling is from carlabs and should meet your needs if you're insterested.

Hey guys I am thinking of getting some HID's (6000K) for my fogs. Been thinking about it for a while, but the other day I saw a E55 and C55 with HID fogs and that just convinced me completely. I have heard a lot about Darwin, so I searched the forum members' listing...all I could find was Anthony, JLee, and John from Carlab...no Darwin.

Btw, how much does the CarLab HID kit usually run for? $265?

I will need a new citylight? I mean...I already changed my city light to kind of match my bix's. All I need are HID fogs.

So when are ya planning to throw a kegger at CarLab?

Oh yeah...so how do I exactly get ahold of Darwin?

I've also heard that Carlab HID throw obc error on some member's car
So, doesn't necessarily mean, if you get carlab HID, then you won't get error msg. If you have bad luck, you might still do.
Also, tech1hid shouldn't throw obc error, at least mine doesn't throw one.
so check it out.
I would recommand 5000k, I think anything above 6000k is a little too blueish and might catch too much attention.

Darwin told me with the version 5 that they won't flicker or need them set to present.
