Car audio shops suck....

Today i went to the best car audio shop in Orlando that has been around for 25 years. I told the manager that i wanted to put 4 12inch kicker comps in the trunk and he was like nooooo Mercedes is so far ahead of everybody. The trunk is sound proof from the cabin and you wouldn't hear it, but on a good note he said he could do two 12s inside the cabin behind the rear seat headrests and that would hit much harder than in the trunk. So i might have a very unique install being done guys!

I would rather have then done in the trunk. Many people have them in the trunk. And If I got subs which I might, it would be for other people to hear outside the car rather than the passengers inside. You will go deaf with them inside

Thats what i was saying man i want them to BANG outside to where im shaking all the cars at the stop light (If anyone flames me i know your an old fart). My ****** uncle was there agreeing with everything the manager said because he thinks he knows it all...i know many ppl on here have had them in there trunk and they said they hit really hard.

Im thinking of putting them into the trunk cutting the plastic out perfectly behind the backseat armrest and also behind the rear headrests im going to pop off those fake speaker grills cut the foam under it so there is more airflow from the trunk to the cabin. This will hit really hard inside and will be heard from blocks away

OW...

I feel older every minute (and I'm 23).

4 Twelves in the trunk would shake everything around you. What are you going to power those with (Amps and Capacitor brands)?

Not 100% on the amps yet but i know im getting kicker comps. Ive heard 2 of them not getting pushed half as hard as they could be and it was loud. Im going to push them at there max rms and thats the good thing about kicker comps theyre made to do it. I see it all the time at SPL competitions. Any reccomendations on subs and which head unit ?

put them in the trunk and take out the subs in the rear deck to act as a port.
BTW, four 12" is and overkill and kicker is the stuff they use in Jeeps and Fords.
i'd use two 10s or 12s...something nice like JL..

Pioneer AVIC Z2...

The thing is probably the most BA head unit that I have ever seen. Navigation, Built In Hard Drive, iPod Connectivity, DVD Player...

It's expensive, but if you plan on showing the car, you need something like it to win. A friends B6 Audi S4 is running one of these in combination with a huge JL Audio setup and it's like God is shaking the earth when he cranks it up. It's won the Waterwagens (water cooled VW/Audi show) every time he's entered it.

I agree with you somewhat man ive heard many subwoofers including JLs dont get me wrong they are really nice probably the best quality sounding, But theres a reason behind kicker winning mostly every SPL competition they are used to compete in.

c230 is right you can get a ticket, especially in towns or cities that have sound ordinances. For instance my neighboring city has one and sometimes you see these undercover people standing on the side of the street with decibel meters, lol. They pull people over all the time...some cities don't give a crap, but usually if your like sitting in traffic, especially around cops, its good to be courteous (and smart) and just turn it down a little

Lets see pics of that contraption. Make sure it includes all of the wiring.
