Uhm what do you mean not pull on it and the top vent? I'm just asking about the gear shift panel. Do you mind elaborating on the subject? Thanks!

DIY Radio HU Install for 2004 MB C240
This is a great DIY, but does anyone have one for a 2004 MB C240? The 2005 had significant changes. I just bought a Kenwood HU from Crutchfield, but they don't have a Master sheet for the install, and I don't want to pay an outfit ~$150 for an install I can do myself. Help!

Different Vehicle Side Harness
Hello;
Can anyone point me to the correct harness that would mate up with the harness that I have? It is a different style than that pictured above. It only has one bank of the black 8 pin connectors. - Instead it has a white housing on a horizontally positioned bank and two (looks like fiber) cables.

the components are held in place by the same size torx bolts that the console is held in by the car. the top one that holds hazard button (top trim under the air vents) is held in by 8 torx screws, the lower one with the ac knobs is held in by 4 torx screws, with the ash tray you justned a flat head and push down on the two tabs on the underside and slide the top off, for the shifter trim, the boot just clips off. its all easy to see when you remove the pieces.

2nd time using this thread!
Hello!
just installed my w203 command unit replacing the Audio 20 that came with car. Got me the command unit from a wrecked 2006 for a really price. install went pretty easy, about 40 mins. basic swap. everything works except i dont have a navi dvd. is this something that i have to get from dealer? or can someone point me in the right direction?
also i heard of this engineering mode for the command, but i think its only for the Euro? thanks for all the help on this forums!

40 minutes? That's great.
Took me closer to 4 hours - but mostly because I go really slow the first time, had to keep running to the garage for a better sized tool, and getting those lower climate-control screws back in was TOUGH.
But, I now have a bass control knob up in the dash where I can get to it.
So, thank you for giving me the instructions and encouragement to not pay someone a couple hundred dollars do take care of this for me!
Just a caveat for anyone else trying something similar:
The tabs on the bottom of the shifter console are SHARP. I scratched the ashtray lid a bit before I realized what was going on.
And the control panel contains as full-length PCB, so even the unused "buttons" have electronics behind 'em. A work-around was easy enough, but you can't go all the way through from the back.

2004 c320, 2008 ml350
I'm putting a new radio in my 2004 c320 with bluetooth(it didn't have the phone module in it). The microphone seems to be in the car already. Does anyone know if the wires for the microphone come out behind the radio?(are they pre-wired?). I'm wondering if I could make an adapter to connect the new radio microphone input to the existing microphone.
Thanks
