CL203 Coupe Pano-roof Maintenance - MB lube Grease Part #s, gears, & fixes
I believe Tommy's problem is more serious, my blinds close perfectly except you have to manually "tuck" in the last remaining edge like your mommy tuck in the shirt for you when you are 3 years old

Yes, mine was much more severe than yours; the tension roller broke on it, and the blind just hung limp from any position that it was in. It was replaced in 3 days (they had to remove alot of headliner crap to get to it), and it's worked fine since. But, I have left the blinds open since, as I just don't trust the whole system.
One thing, though. I had a day or so when the system worked the way that you described, so keep watching it. Before you go to the dealer to have it checked out, try to syncronize the sunroof assembly, the instructions are in the manual. If that doesn't work, then it's off to the dealer for you. Keep us updated on your progress, and good luck. I'll also ignore the color comments from people here, as it is obvious that they have had too much egg nog to see the clear superiority of Orion.

No Roof, No Probs... sorry guys couldn't resist but hope it all works out for you
System won't let me reply to your earlier thread, so here's a new one...
The neat part is that the sunroof runs from one side of the car to the other (30% wider) than a traditional "sunroof." The outside "passover" looks alot tidier than on other cars, too.
Thanks for the pic. I am not sure why the outside mounting makes me uncomfortable, maybe it's all the dust here in Phoenix. I am going to order one Orion Blue with Auto and C2 package. I notice many peope on this forum get the c7 wheel package, is this a recommended option. Thanks

Jim, I wouldn't worry about the sunroof going on the outside. If you have it open, you're driving it, so dust won't settle. Also, you won't be trapping anything in the area that would be between the outside and inside layers of the roof, if you had a sunroof that went inside the roof. The glass is either half full, or half empty. You decide.
You might want to reconsider the color, though. It's pretty ugly!
As far as other options, the Bose upgrade and the cd changer, while pricey, are good choices.
I go back and forth over the external roof retraction. While it's arguably true that the exposed mechanism is subject to more contaminants, it's probably also true that an internally stowed roof would be harder to fix once it gets gunk in the mechanism. The internal option may not accululate as fast, but it will do so, and you don't have ready access to pre-empt it from happening. On the other hand, because the external roof is exposed, you DO have access to clean it occasionally. To me, it's more a style issue than maintenance question. And, as noted before, this roof looks less tacked-on than others.
tommy, We're thinking alike again! I would have left your comments be the word, except that I didn't see it, because I've been busy trying three tries over a 20-minute period to post this one, and yours came in during the interim... Geez, I can't even post replies to a thread that I start. That SUCKS!!!

I have a Silver C230 on order with the pana roof option and wanted to ask if heat is problem in the summer. As a South Floridian, I'm concerned about the fact that the roll up screens are both black and uninsulated.

IMO, the color of the interior plays the biggest role in determining how hot it gets inside. The Pana roof is darkly tinted. My guess is you'll get more solar radiation through the windshield and side glass than the Pana roof (unless you tint them (and I assume you will in FLA)
