Good question. I have only seen the bottom side. My windows will be tinted before it leaves the showroom which should minimize heat load through all glass but for the windshield. Do you or anyone else have any recomendations on MB window tinting?

There is no quicker way to cool an overhead car than to open that sunroof or drop a convertible top. When the dealer demonstrated the remote control sunroof opening feature, the deal was sealed.

I agree with flashman. If you will leave the sunroof tilted open then alot of the heat will go out. Window tinting helps alot too. When you get back in the car the quickest way to get rid of hot air is to open the roof and windows. No problem!

but the button.

Went to take a look at the coupe this afternoon. There is a button that will recycle cool air in the car for up to 30mins when you leave the car. Go for the roof. That thing is amazing.

What's there to decide!!! The roof is the cherry on top of the sundae. The piece' de' resistance'. The one thing that will put you over the top. The first time I saw both of those sunshades closing on the roof, it was way too cool.

cool roof

My 98 VW GTI has a moon roof, I seldom open the roof after the first 6 months of owning the car.

However, I still got my C230K with the roof. It's just so cool and I like it that practically the entire roof is glass except the bar acroos the center.

I was hoping to find a white C230 with C7 and the roof. Mine is coming next month, and the waiting is not much fun.

stays outta the way and saves headroom that way.

Haven't driven the car open yet so I don't know about wind noise, but I already think the Panorama package (C2) is a dream...and it includes the neat rain-sensing wipers - no more adjusting as you stop and go!

Worth the money, In My Humble Opinion.

oh man...C7 package = almostAmust!

You get:

* awesome-looking rims
* short-throw shifter if you get the 6speed man-tran
* raised-grip steering wheel
* silver door sills
* aluminium pedals
* and lotsa compliments

Worth the money! (you'll be sorry you didn't...)

Question Panorama Roof

I will likely order my C230k next month, and I know that I need the C7 package, however I am still on the fence with the panorama roof option. Is it really THAT nice?

C7? Duh! Short throws? Na, shorter lever perhaps.
Well I'll see for real in one week! That's right- you losers can sit on the fence pondering C7's virtues while I'll be chillin in my new Benz. Just kidding (about the loser part).

Sunroof? Cool in form not so much in function -MO. The car is very quiet and refined until you open the buffeting wind tunnel that is the pana roof. I find it strange that others have not complained about this- maybe all 3 coupes I drove had defective rooves? Or maybe everyone has the windows open when they open the roof? It was a big let down and I had to make the tough call to forgo the roof and save the grand and the supposed 44lbs. You forgot sprayed door handles Columbus! They look and feel soooo much better. I'll leave it at that. My next goal is deciding how to go about getting that extra 20 hp. Thinking of trying the upsolute chip in my mr2 turbo as a "risk free" trial type deal. Save the its not going to reveal anything replies that I feel on the horizon. I would just like the peace of mind that the product is safe and effective before taking the plunge with the newbie (not sure that I will do it yet on either car actually.)

C230/orion blue/6speed/C7/changer - in T-1 week can I get a hell yes?!

If I was buying another C230, I would not get the P-roof. I never use it and the headroom is much better without it.

No, it is a short throw shifter. The lever is the same length.

Prove it. I haven't read anything about it except for some wishful thinkers on this forum at some point.

Ask renncoupe and Bos for the part numbers. I drove a non-C7 car and own one with. It is a short throw shifter, duh.

But that would be great if it is- just don't know why MB or any of the reviews wouldn't have mentioned that. I want to believe you and those "wishful thinkers" but don't want to be let down is all.

I guess after 36 years of driving standard transmissions I'm just too ****ing stupid to tell the difference after driving C7 and non-C7 cars. I'm sure you must be correct and the parts people at Brumos, where renntech works, lied to him, as did the dealership Bos went to when researching the UUC short throw shifter project he was trying to start.

I don't know what you're getting all worked up about. Bottom line- there was talk about the possibility that it existed on this forum some time ago, but why wouldn't MB or any review in existance mention it? That is purely the basis of my skepticism and I don't wish to fight with you- frankly its not worth it. You can say it has shorter throws and it damn well may have them, but its just something that I will discover for myself next Saturday. I didn't say (or think) you were stupid or make any gender based presumptions. You on the other hand seemed to elude to my apparent ignorance with your usage of my innocent "duh" comment about to C7 or not to C7.

You could have just said something nice like "you must be excited", or "you'll love it- great choice" but this he said she said is so much more fun isn't it? Don't worry- I am excited and I'm sure I'll love it and I know I made a sound choice. I am starting to question my trips to this forum though.
