What about smoking them? It seems that it is popular to tint the tail lights, so why not the front? Don't they offer plain tint in addition to colors? I guess that would defeat the purpose of everyone getting as bright lights as possible for the front.

i have a friend who own's a tint shop and i watched him put the 3-m protectant film on my bixenons and foglights. it looked pretty involved:

-cut a square bigger than the lights
-used alcohol to "activate" the adhesive
-used wedges to push out the bubbles
-then used a razor to cut to fit

i'm not sure how easy the precut ones are to install... but goodluck!

According to Lamin-X, they don't decrease output. I'll find out soon enough, as I've got a set of the blues on order.

I did have very thick X-Pel stuff on mine before, and because it was so thick, the cleavage (if you will) started to pull apart, and **** got in between the film and the headlight surface. Eventually, there was a visible line of gunk between the high and low beams. So I took the whole thing off. Hopefully, these will work out better - a ton of 3 series owners have 'em and say they're fine.

And you can get Lamin-X in smoke, which I think would look best on a white car.
