well i decided to be the guinea pig by buying these taillights. i just ordered them, and hopefully they will come in by next week/weekend. i love the C tails, and LEDs are even better. hopefully the quality of these tails are better than the eagle eyes, and judging by the initial pictures, it looks great. let you guys know in about a week!

I would get them for my coupe if they were built right. LED should last 10+ yrs and I would have them smoked so not too bright. I am thinking about taking my tails apart and building one.

Thumbs up GOT THEM!

okay, so the taillights came in today, and i installed them about an hour ago. some pretty interesting things.

-the taillights itself, before installing them:
+ exterior-wise : they look like the 05+ tails, which i thought look much better than the pre-facelifted C-tails.
+ there were no missing LEDs at all.
+ they came packaged nicely, and with no bulbs
+ they also came with 2 "electric resistance" boxes. this is what connects to that extra wire coming from the taillight. i never had S-tails, so can anyone please tell me if their eagle eyes came with these ground boxes?

-after installing them:
+ they fit well and have all the screw locations the OEM had.
+ however, since i was rear ended, there were gaps all around. maybe it's just my car, so if anyone else purchases these, can they let me know if there were significant gaps?
+ they use the oem circuit board, and like one of members mention, the dummy bulb from the tail goes into the board itself.
+ the extra wire is for the ground boxes.
+ the brake and running lights are powered like OEM; the brake is on top, and the running light on the bottom, which i think solves the problem of burnt out LEDs on the eagle eyes.

i'll let the pictures speak for themselves. sorry these were taking 5 minutes ago:

the light itself:

running lights: [it doesn't run across the whole bottom row]

brake on:

another:

fog on:

and brake/fog:

pics of LED:

overall, a very satisfied customer, and i think this is a great way to update the look to 05' AND have new technology.

Thanks for the review Mu9enx.
Question, the last pic, bottom row, why are there only 6 LEDs instead of 7 like the pic above it?

i just noticed that in the pic, but now i remember. earlier, when there was still sunlight, i saw that on the bottom row of the lights, the last led seems to be angled. at first i thought this was a defect, and that it was supposed to be straight, but on the other side, it was also angled. i think it is to follow the contours of the light, and i'll try to get close daytime pics so you can see what i mean.

interesting... thanks for the pics and review man!

let us know how it holds up. now you have to do the Drex mod to have the bottom row entirely light up.

he can't unless he change it to the 05+ bulb holder. this tail light uses the stock bulb holder unlike the EagleEye S-class tail light.

nice tail light tho...great alternative then getting the real 05 and do the re-wire.

yes, you'll need the bulb holder/board whatever you wanna call it, 2 extra connector pins, and the 7-pin connector plug.

i don't think there are actually any "good" led s tails. best bet is to just get the non LED ones. but if your wife really wants LED s tails just get the eagle eyes then; it's relatively cheap, and it's really the luck of the draw. you might get a good pair, or you might get a ****ty pair, who knows. haha.
