I can't see crap from the inside of my car using mine... Seems like the fogs light up the road better

I'm wondering if they're aimed incorrectly... and if so, how do you aim them?

its because halgoen bulbs are not supposed to be used in a projector lense. (not bright or powerful enough)

Okay, so you're considering getting the above-referenced lights and you already got a bad set of DEPO's, which would put you in the hole a total of $800 approximately? This is one of the reasons that I always recommend that if people can afford it, get the real thing. Real BIX is not that much more than that $800.

i can return the ones i currently have so i will only have to pay the price stated on the ebay add of about 600. But do you think that they are self leveling? and that the lighting will be much better?

Really? W/ my OEM lights it was MUCH MUCH brighter... So projector lights take away from the light output???

I figured it would at least be as bright as OEM...

Someone else confirm this, cuz I had stock BI-X, but how much are the OEM BI-X from Steve? I'm pretty sure they are in that range. Not positive, but I'm pretty darn sure they are in that range.

Anyone know install costs for xenon vs non-xenon?

Or... even labor hours?

Aftermarkets were only $70 at a bodyshop... but MB wanted to charge me about $250... Given that info, how much more do you think OEM bi's would be?

There are a few DIYs out there? Nonetheless, it's a quick install if you can do it right. $70 sounds fair for both aftermarkets and OEM.

Okay, so $200 bucks more than DeanL will end up paying for both sets of aftermarket headlights? I'd say that's worth it.

Okay, so if you returned the new ones and you're thinking about paying $600 for these ones, why not just save up the extra $500 and get the real deal?

But if you don't want to do that and you're set on getting the Depo lights:
- only OEM bi-x is auto leveling (there is a part connected to the swaybar that actually controls the leveling)
- DEPO lights would just be replacement projector (so there would be the normal projector cut-off line), but these ones have integrated HID.
- DEPO lights will not have High-beam HID (unless you purchase a separate HID kit for the high beams). OEM bi-x have the cover that changes the angle of the headlights for the high beam.

to say that they're not suppose to is misleading. projector uses a smaller
reflector...and the lens is not designed optimally to take advantage of
the halogen specifications. if you pull out the Taiwan Depo lens off the
projector and substitute with a Hella halogen projector lens, the difference
is startling.

Do you guys know if the DEPO lights can be raised and lowered? I know they can be moved right and left with the black plastic thing that you put a screw driver in but can the light be moved up and down as on the OEM? I am wondering because mine are angled down or seem to be have anyof you had this problem? There is a part on the back with a purple P sticker on it does this level the lights and if so how? My lights have a gap between the projector lense and black housing is this normal please help.

Halogen to Xenon

Do you guys know what the difference is between the stock halogen lights and Xenon lights in regards to the plugs and how to convert to the xenon plug if they are different with out buying an entire wiring harness

OK,

you've had enough posts. There is more to this than a simple plug conversion. Next thing you'll know you'll be asking for schematics and partslists to build your own.

Could've asked this question in your DEPO lights thread. I'm merging the two.

Also, the halogen to xenon isn't as simple as "are the plugs the same". Xenon bulbs (e.g. HID) require a ballast and ignitor. If you are going to add a HID kit to a stock halogen setup, they have to have the ballast and ignitor, as well as the exact bulb size (in order to fit the housing properly).

Now that I've answered your question, would you please attempt searching before posting threads like this. Thanks.

the depo lights can be adjusted both up & down and left & Right, look for the black bolt adjuster knob, you should have two. Be careful though, Depo lights are really cheaply made so if you over tighten you'll break it and won't be able to adjust them anymore.

BTW, very nice lighting you have!
switching lens: 1) projector lens can be difficult as it is challenging to find an exact match in diameter and to replace Depo proj lens with a Hella. 2) replacing the fluted outside lens is somewhat unrealistic as there isn't any being marketed solely as lens replacement. so what I did was to buy the complete Depo headlight housing, baked in oven to loosen adhesive and pop the outer lens, yank the halogen proj and replace with HID bixenon proj, and resealed.
