oh yeah, the only time the frosted lens are cool, is during christmas time, since its....FROSTY THE HEADLIGHTS BLA BLA BLA BLA SNOW
lol don't give urself too much high hopes on replacing a clear lens one, especially since the stealership ppl are stupid, they probably will say "oh the 05 one won't fit ur car"

while that may be true, and some dealers may say: "oh the 05 one won't fit ur car"
the reality is that if ( if ) they do change the lenses, they will go by Gary's VIN # and the computer will show that lenses are the "frosted" ones.
So that's what they will put back on the Coupe.

The lucky saving grace may ( may ) be that they are completely out of stock on the "frosted" lenses, and thus substitute those for the clear lenses.... but that is highly improbable and wishful thinking.

Did MB man up and replace them for you? If not, some Bi-X's will fix that pronto!

Ok so I'm confused here a little. This may be a total nub moment, however on the auction it says C320. and my car is a C320 how are you supposed to know that things are specific for the coupe or the sedan??? because the same thing happend to me on a grill i ordered, it said c320 so i figured it would work just fine, however it didnt fit at all.

In general, if it doesn't say "coupe", you can assume that they're talking about the sedan.

Of course, you could also ask them directly, too.

you can order anything directly from the dealership.

(unless you're in the USA, and are trying to get a EURO-only part)

Coupes, Sedans and Wagons all came as a C320.

W203 = Sedan
CL203 = Coupe
S203 = Wagon

You have to specifically ask vendors if their parts are for the Coupe or the Sedan.
If they don't know the difference between CL203 and W203 parts, then run away !

well,

apparently, "yellowing" of headlights are not covered under warranty, they are wear and tear items.

so my SA goes to me... "(we've got some lease returns coming in soon) I'll try to swap bi-x (if theres even any) or 05s for you"

I'm just crossing my fingers, to see those guys getting returned.

Ok, so here's a goofy question... Does anyone actually KNOW what the difference is between the coupe and sedan headlights? The lenses look similar. Is it a matter of mounting points or wire harness or depth or ?????

because the front hood and front bumper on the Coupe and Sedan are different, the shape & size of the headlights are different too.

They are NOT interchangeable, and cannot be modified for one to fit the other.

I think the clear halogens look real nice, much nicer than the frosties but I think i'll just wait and get the Bi-X's

If anyone has found cheaper than what I found please let me now

where are you getting that information from ?

all 2001-2007 C Sedan headlights will work on each other with the exception of the C55 AMG.

all C-Coupe headlights will work on C-Coupes. Whether they are frosties / clears / or Bi-X's.

the frosty headlights uses the lens to sorta "aim" or shoot some of the light in a direction, but if u remove the lens and add clear lens, it will just shoot randomly.

True dat. Look at any car with clear headlights and notice the ribbed silver reflectors in the back. Then take apart any old frosty headlight and notice the "smooth" backing.
