Alarm/beeps sound wierd

I have a 2005 C240 4Matic. I had the beeping for locking/unlocking activated about a month ago at the dealership. Today when I went to unlock my car the beep sounded strange, it was much much lower in volume. I then tried using the panic button and the alarm siren sounds lower in volume too. It almost sounds like something is "dying" like if a battery was dying in an electronic device. Everything else is working fine though. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. I do remember seeing that now, because I posted in that thread but I didn't pay too much attention since it wasn't happening to me, lol. So they didn't replace this under warranty?

Oh ok cool. When you said $50-60, I assumed you meant you had to pay that. My car is still under new car factory warranty, so they are doing anything it needs.

Did the initial beep sound similar to that of a Lexus or a generic Ungo?

UPDATE:
Found it using the infamous search feature

Actually my car sounded like this:

That is my car after having the beep set. It sounds like that now, just much, much lower in volume. The panic alarm is also extremely low in volume. I doubt as many people would hear it if it went off now and before it was ear piercing.

Question

Question on the different beeps out there. Currently, my 05 C230WZ doesn't beep when locking/unlocking, something I find annoying since I always have to look at the car when leaving to make sure the lights blink and, as such, the car is locked.

I'm going to be bringing my car in for a warranty issue and wanted to enable the beeping. As shown above, there's 2 distinct styles of beeping....ZionXLion's "0AlarmBeep.wmv" and pmb600's youtube video. The one I want enabled on my car is ZionXLion's style.

Does anyone know what I'd have to tell the Service guys to do in order to enable the "ZionXLion" type beep? Basically, where it's located in the StarDiagnotics menu? I know some call it the "Netherlands" setting, but I also read this setting disables your panic button on your remote, something I'd like to retain.

I noticed that ZionXLion has an 04 C vs pmb600's 05 C. Do you know if the 05 cars had the beep changed, and ZionXLion's beep is no longer available on the 05's?

Thanks,
Cintoman

Actually, that's not from my car (alarm beep video) . I pulled it from an old Alarm beep thread. I decided not to have the Netherland settings enabled..

You can have either type of beep on an 05. At least that was my experience when I got the dealership. The tech first tried the Netherlands setting which was under the Rear SAM menu. With this setting you get the longer beeps and no panic. If you set the car to USA with buzzer (I don't know where this is, but he found it pretty easily), you get the shorter beeps and panic works. The sound can be adjusted for either in 10% increments.
