How do I get to my front turn signal bulb to replace it?

Hi everybody. I drive an 02 C230K Sportcoupe. My driver side front turn signal just went out. I popped the hood and noticed things are a lot more complicated than the lights in back, which are the only ones I've replaced previously. How do I get to this bulb? Do I have to take out the whole assembly? There's a rubber bushing/grommet/seal/whatever around the lenses to keep water from getting in that I'm afraid of taking out and not putting back in correctly. Also, can this be done without tools? I noticed alot of clips.

you have to take it out from the back, just twist the plastic piece that looks like its directly behind the turn signal bulb and pull outwards

I bought the bulb at dealer and has a mechanic install for me. No labour charge.

Replaced it this morning, but still getting the fault. I'm going to try with another bulb in case I somehow F'ed this one up, but if not - does this sound like the dreaded lamp wiring issues I've heard about?
