prob 2009/10 when the w204 should get some nice corrections/upgrade/restyling
I should be ready to trade in my 06w203....
if gas prices level of or go back down..I will buy a S class.....have a Range Rover and will prob upgrade that if the body style changes...but love my 03 w/the BMW engine as opposed to the newer Ford/Cosworth...but yes another Mercedes is in my future...

having owned an S203 C270CDI for 1.5 year and 60.000km AND having driven around a 204 C220CDI "avantgarde" for a while all I can say is screw the 203!!!
I def don't like the dash of the 204 but having experienced the C220CDI in avantgarde trim with AMG kit, pano roof, comand and some other basic requirements I can only say that I LOVE the car!
Finally a C-class that can be thrown through curves WITHOUT having to change the shocks & springs...finally a C-class that has kick-*** fitting seats...finally a C-class with keyless go and a pano roof...finally a C-class with an optional DVD changer...finally a voice recognition system that can change languages.
the 204 is WAY cooler then it looks like...and taking them apart is extremely easy!
greetingz,

Not a fan of the remodeled "flatter" redesign either of the 204!!!! I do have a strong feeling MB will quietly rechange and redeisgn the front end in less then a few years. But I actually would purchase a new E-Class when its time to say good buy to my 203.
Long live the c203!!!

I just got my 07 so I'm sticking with it for another few years at least. Plus like other people have said, I hate going with first year models.
But I wouldn't refuse a test drive

Honestly the W204 does not look bad at all, the more I look at it the more it tends to look better then the W203's. Also after watching fifth gear, it really made me want to trade in my W203.. but then again I still have alot of things to accomplish before letting go.

The first few road tests I've read put the W204 C350 Sport about .2 to .4 seconds slower 0-to-60 than the '06/'07 models. Ride is nicer but the ultimate grip/slalom test are about the same (66.5 to 66.7 mph). So the extra weight seems to offset any real performance gains. For me, it would be an interior upgrade, maybe nicer 18" double spoke wheels and dual exhaust. Doesn't really seem worth it. I'm going to wait until the C63 is out in force and pick up a clean , low mileage '06 C55 AMG. That should hold me over until a few used C63 start appearing for under $60K. I can't see myself dropping $80K on a new C-Class.

...just drove another brandnew and full optioned W204 C220CDI avantgarde around the sindelfingen plant and all I can say is what I already said before screw the W203...it does not come anywhere near to the 204 when it comes to handling and comfort (finally keyless go on a C-class for a minor 1000USD).
Just have to wait for the modelupdate in september when they will get rid of the oversized mirrors...

Hmm, godawful interior, no coupe, and reduced availability of a manual transmission? Where do I sign up?
And that's ignoring how much $$ I've thrown into my ccoupe, of course. I'm sure the W204 will do better against 3s and A4s, but I don't like where the C class is headed. Next up for me is another Honda, or maybe Volvo or BMW. Definitely not another C.

I agree, I'm holding out. Keyless Go is a nice one though. But the top end W204 didn't do so well against the top 3-Series.
but according to MT... G37s ripped out the 335ci though.

Oh what glorious times we live in. I feel like it's 1969 again and everyone with a sedan is throwing a small block V8 into them. The new Lexus IS-F (is that right?), the G37S model and 335i are slugging it out. We need a C550 to compete below the C63 but above the C350--with the 300+ HP crowd.
