either i'll go 4 a e55 or when the Holden HSV comes stateside. Benzes depreciate way too much. besides I'm not a w204 fan, the interior i do not like nor do i care 4 the rear end.

a quarter mile at a time
I've said this time and time again, but personally, I'd stay away from the first year W204's. Nothing against Mercedes, but every car manuf has had problems with first year cars because they are getting more and more complex and it's just impossible to work out every kink. Even the W203 had significantly more problems during it's first 2 years but by 2005 or so, we don't hear of too many problems.

I think I'm going to wait for it to come out, test drive it about 20 times and then save my money for a C63 if I like it.

Stated this in another thread. I really am not a fan of the body stylings of the w204. The only way I would get it is if I got a C63 and immediately put a body kit on it to change the body stylings.

With the w203, I never thought I would want to upgrade the body styling ever...but then, I saw them all over the place.

Speaking of upgrading the body styling, when can I expect to see an update?

MB has continually proven to me that it takes them 2-3 years before a new product becomes stable. Also I have 4 years free maintenance with 1 year left, can't give that up and probably won't if I get a new car, maybe go with BMW that still offers free maintenance.

2005 Mercedes C230 Sport Sedan (W203)
I might change this opinion once I see a W204 in person, but, I think the W204 looks to bulky and just generally different from the W203. I bought my C-Class for its specific looks, I dont like the look of the W202 or the W204. I'll likely end up trading my 05 for an 07 just to keep it fresh, but once the warranty runs out on the 07 I'll probably be looking elsewhere...

i doubt that anyone on here can claim that they've been satisfied with their dealer's carwash. and if so, its a rare occasion.

Actually, Buell is a regular "customer" at his local dealer's carwash.

I, on the other hand, specifically tell them not to wash my car.

Too poor to upgrade. With that said, other than the dozens of bugs, after they've been worked out, my 2003 is a helluva lot of fun to drive.

The W204 doesn't look half-bad though, inside or outside. Other than the stubby nose but it's not like they have a choice there. Stupid pedestrians.

Gimme at least a couple weeks. 1 week for painting and need to figure out some wiring, but should be fairly cut and dry.

Beginning of August easily.

I take both our MB's there every week, my C230 and my kid's SLK230. They do an outstanding job, even better than the local car wash and I'm very picky about that sort of stuff. It's a tough problem, give up free car washes for 300HP twin turbo 335i Bimmer with free maintenance, hmmm, have a year to think about that one before the car reaches it's expiration date. The croisants and muffins are equisite too. The coffee is really bad, maybe it's just recycled motor oil. Fletcher Jones has a Starbucks counter, much better but their wash is nowhere near as good. Also, since I work from home much of the time it's great to crack open my laptop and work from there mid-week, I don't care how long the wash takes.

YOu know us Floridans can only dream of such fantasies happening at our dealerships. Were stuck with Kia rentals and muffin split into quarters courtesy of Costco. You all have it made on the west coast

I personally would wait for the updated version of the W204 C-Class, again, not a big fan of the interior (with the opening and closing COMAND computer screen) nor the rear of the car.

In the meanwhile, I'd keep a keen eye on the current 2008 BMW 328i coupe. This BMW 328i handles beautifully with impressive finesse. However, the radio and climate control systems both require thorough readings of the owner's manuals to be fully appreciated (not user friendly like Mercedes-Benz); additionally the Trip computer is not as intelligent as the ones featured on Mercedes-Benz.

I can. MBSD always hooks me up with an excellent car wash & detail on my C-Coupé. No scratches, no swirls, no spots !

I just go home and detail the wheels and I'm good !
