Bulb replacement for Bixenon headlights
Edward
but as far as I know, MB hasn't integrated the D1s to their cars. D2R(eflector)
are to be matched with the fluted lens HIDs.

a pair and ask for same brand, model and lot #.....if you are all picky about
color balance/match. if you buy single, you are gambling on temperature shift
with the one still operational....and that it would match a new bulb. depends
on how long you've run the old one(s).

But all in all, it shouldn't be a long task (maybe 30 minutes if you're being super, extra careful).

Shut car off. Wait (I forget how long, probably at least 2h) for all the gadgetry inside to drain, you don't want to zap yourself. Open rear cover. First thing you'll see is the back connector for the bulb; 1/8 turn counterclockwise and the connector pulls out. 2 metal "clips", and the bulb is easily removed.
If you know what you're doing, it takes less than 30s. The only real clincher is to make sure you don't touch the bulb glass!

The bulbs are not that fragile at all. Just open the back of the headlight and look inside.

I guess I'll just try what you said here in your post.THX
THX.

To prevent zapping yourself, another good idea is to remove the fuse to the corresponding light. And wait for a bit for the stuff to discharge.
My BiX still have the stock 4300K bulbs, haven't ordered the 6000K bulbs, still haven't decided which bulbs to get. Here's the thing, I bought em used from a local guy and the BiX was bought 2 years ago from Steve. Somehow, my BiX is ONLY as bright as my GF's 06 Civic with halogen bulbs. Could it be the ballasts? I mean that's bad if it is. I'll try to change the bulbs with another 4300K D2S bulbs to see if it's only the bulbs that are almost dead. Anyone had the same problem like I do after 2/3 years with the same bulbs?
It just sucks if the ballasts need to be changed and I have to uninstall the BiX again, get new ballasts ETC.

Just curious, how the BiX should be aimed for the best output?

in the process of changing the bulb I might of over compensate the BIX height adjustment and got it of loop...
Now it wouldn't move down / up at star up anymore.... anyone know if I can take the headlight out and fix it??
PS the when i'm reaching to change the bulb I can move the projection unit up and down easily ( it's loose)

If you still wanna the light higher, instead of cranking the bulb, you can loosen the bix housing and "tilt" the entire thing.
