Ballast is toast...how to replace?

This past weekend we pulled the left d2s bulb out of his bix which we thought was burned out. I swapped the bulbs just in case it wasn't a bulb issue and sure enough...the left bulb worked in the right headlight but the right bulb did not work in the left headlight. Does anyone have the part number for the bix ballast and is it hard to replace? Should he just take his car to the dealer?

I think it is separate....

I found this on your site:

http://c24.fear50.com/pics/xenon4.htm

It clearly shows the ballast as a separate module attached to the bottom of the headlight assembly. I also see a part number but I can't make it out completely. Could you send me another copy of that pic? Looks like it's pretty easy to swap out.

Who is "his"? I'm assuming you mean your friend, eddie. Nonetheless, I'm also assuming the car is out of warranty? If not, bring that to the dealer NO question.

If it is out of warranty, just take off the bi-x assembly that has a bad ballast and you should be able to get the part number from there.

The car belongs to my friend...I wrapped by c230 and got a beemer due to all the electrical problems I had with my c230. I'm helping him out as he is clueless about diy car repair and I hate to see him get bent over at the stealer....that and his sister is pretty hot and I get to see her in her skimpy outfits at their house when I go over! =) His car is out of warranty mileage wise and he got the bix from Steve.

How long ago did he get the bi-x from Steve? Why not contact Steve first?

Oh...and we can't believe that the sister is really hot, unless you show pics!

OFF TOPIC:

edd1e22; I didn't know that they sold 2007 BMW 325is in the United States. I thought we had only gotten the 328i. How did you manage that?

Good catch...I use to drive a 95 325is and I still call my new car that sometimes by mistake. I don't know why they just don't call it a 330is as it is a 3.0 now and not a 2.8. Bmw is weird like that...

Ahhh. They still have a 2.5 liter one for other markets. I thought you perhaps went through International Direct Sales and ordered the 2.5 liter instead.

BMW 328i coupe, my favorite car. The handling is mindblowingly fantastic.

A truer GT than even the current Bentley (a company historically famous for making long-distance GT cars); seats four comfortably, big trunk, capable of driving long distances in relative comfort.

In addition; fold down rear seats standard, xenon lights standard, lit door handles at night standard, sport suspension standard...

BMW made a true winner.

my installer had to remove the bumper and reach the bottom of the headlight to get it exchanged, well it did cost me labour cost for removing the bumper.
