I got mine from the dealer. It was under 20 bucks, so not too bad.

Nope i'm pretty sure it's all metal. I bought it off DFWdude who make the white star badge.

available at the dealership:

See this post: https://mbworld.org/forums/showpost....&postcount=148

Pics are gone, because they're on the OLD MBWorld server,
but I'll repost them here:

In November 2004, they were $14 at the dealership. I highly doubt they come in CF.

All those eBay hood emblems suck. ForMyMercedes sells the OEM plastic flat hood badge, but yes it will fade in time....

See this thread to get the best flat hood badge out there, hands down !

I own a MB C230k sedan. A very nice ride, soon to be modified to its full extent.
Whos DFWdude?

That is a clean hood emblem. The white star is a attention grabber. Is it metal? Im new here I have an 05' c230k sedan in Orion blue. I just bought a flat hood emblem and its made of plastic so Im thinking about getting a different one in metal. I will just use the plastic one for days I want to change it up.

Too bad DFWDude wasn't able to make a compatible white star flat badge for the coupes. I do like my Brabus hood badge, though.

My WHITE STAR Flat Badge is made from the original upright star mount, which comprises the basic metal core, the metal lock set and the Blue Laurel Wreath surround, all as they come from the factory. To this I mill out the center metal upright star mount, and replace it with the WHITE STAR insert...

The WHITE STAR insert is also 100% METAL with enamelled white star!

I'm glad you like your WHITE STAR Flat Badge, mad_vtak!

MJ50, I'd like to make a badge for the coupe, but the OEM upright star base of the sedan will not fit the hood on the coupe.

Clean! It just begs to have a big ole star on the grille too. Get one of these paint-matched jobs. This pie plate's Iridium Silver from 55Tech.com for $119.

It is the CL style but the fins are a little larger and they are painted Iridium. Paint match is perfect. Edges are chromed. I got it on Ebay here.

Sorry, my bad. Here's the W203 one I got. A little more expensive but you can ask to have it without the flat hood ornament. Might save some scratch. The hood ornament, latch and center star were all OEM MB in the original MB boxes and PN#s.

I've had a 50/50 reaction from people; they either love it or hate it. There's no middle ground it seems. I just think it might go real well with mad_vtak's new flush hood ornament if you could find the right color.
