The correct way to upgrade the sound in your Coupe.
Anyway, with the D3 in and steering wheel controls still functioning (thanks MK), the paper cone speakers are very lacking. Now, don't get me wrong, I didn't go out and buy $400 high end 5 1/4" speakers. I bought sufficient ones that are within my budget and better than stock.
1. Remove tweeter cover, srs cover, cover under arm rest and torx screw near door latch.
2. Gently pop door skin off starting at the bottom and working around. There's about a dozen plastic clips.
3. Pull up from the top of door panel to remove from window sill. Unplug the harnesses and door latch cable.
3. Remove old speakers and extend speaker cable.
3.5 Dynamat doors.
4. Make adapters, PM me for details.
5. Attach and wire speakers. Trim foam panels to accomadate dynamat.
6. Reattach everything.
7. Tune new stereo.

8. Enjoy music alot more.

And I'm not suprised, 'what tint should i get' gets tons of replies but when someone engineers a solution for others, it gets no love.

Also, do u have any pics of the door panels, with an eye on the inside of the rear speaker covers? I need to replace those, along with the rear speakers, since one is blown.

C230 Sport Coup; Nope, I didn't take any pics of that. The grilles are glued to the door panel though. I just bought 5 1/2 and 4" pioneer speakers. You could probably squeeze 6" and 5.5" in the back or at the very least 5.5" at both spots. The adapters I made are almost the same size meaning the same or slightly larger could fit.
mbarrad; Yep, read the d3 thread again.
