M271 (1.8L) Supercharger Intake Resonator (baffled muffler) removal

Im willing tot do this, just wondering if anybody has any input that may be of use to me. THanks guys

Anyways, I was able to acheive a prominent supercharger whine without having that thing removed. I haven't had a chance to take new video clips, but it's a pretty loud whine. If you want to take a listen, there's a link in my signature.

Nah, believe me. I understand. Took me a while to get to the point where I could put aside cash to do the stuff. That's why my car stayed pretty close to stock the 1st 1.5 years. If you can afford the downtime, there are some pics on the MAF cleaning thread that can help you take off the airbox. From there, you'll probably be on your own since nobody else has dissected the engine to that point.

i know a really good shop that can do it here in NY ( RPM RACING)

All it does it amplify the SC sound. Its really cool at first but on a long trip it would sound like someone is grinding your teeth.
). I built my jeep from the ground up, and I have a mildly built 2006 Civic for sale. Im completely technically inclined, I just dont know what the piece I will be working on is called. And if I become to lazy to remove it myself, I was asking what I would describe it as to a tech.

If that's the case, you should be fine. Just a little more research and that link to removing the intake and you should be on the right track to actually being able to see the area that the supercharger muffler is at. I wish you the best of luck because this is something I definitely wouldn't attempt at all out of pure laziness. I've lost the need to wrench a while ago, unless it's a small task. Enjoy talking and coming up with concepts, but have no need to do the dirty work anymore (especially when it comes to Benz and the expensive replacement parts).
I will try to show before and after pics as best as I can.
The new pipe to TB is a 2.5 pipe L -shape. Which I had to cut to fit. Note , the upper radiator hose is not pinched or being pushed against. Just looks like it . I added a little high heat temp. to block heat to pipe. All my pipes will be covered in this after my threads are done.
For resonator delete, this is what is needed
1. 17.5 x 2.5 IC Pipe.
2. 2 , 2.5 Silicone hose, must be 3 or 4ply!!! for strength against heat
3. 4 T-bolt clamps ,, I must say again T-bolt clamps!!ONLY
not anything cheesy like mine temp. until my order comes in. Thats why I used dble clamps for now.
4. Heat wrap.!!! Some might not like the look , but why do this , if not going to do it right. wrap the pipe up.
For new pipe to TB.
1. 2.5 90% IC Pipe ,
2. 2 , 2.5 Silicone hose
3. 4 T- bolt clamps
4. Heat wrap
You will have to shorten L-pipe top and bottom to fit.

Inlet pipe and top of air box etc,, should be coverd in high heat resistant tape to keep things even cooler. Mine will be done, just left it naked to show pics. Cheers.
If you look real close on picture 4, you can see the airfiler. !!! Great air flow,
If water does come in the factory air box, which I realy doubt, the air box has I believe two holes on the bottom of box near computer where it can drain out.. I washed my car for trial and error First with the card board cut out, and It didnt even get wet!!!
