Out Of Control!!
Are there some threads in here that have info on all the things the display can do other than what is written in the owners manual, and some general info? What were the option codes, paint codes, etc? Someone make a sticky thread with this kinda stuff. Is there any kind of reminder or service lights I need to reset when I change the oil, or do maintenance?
Resetting the service light is described in the manual, but basically, you get to the indicator display after you do the service, then hold down the reset stalk, and it will reset, after you confirm that yes, you're not an idiot, and want the indicator reset. Mine, though, seems to only want to do the reset after 50-100 miles on the new oil, for some reason.
You can do a search to see how to get the display in dyno mode, but it's only marginally interesting.
Don't worry about paying too much - too late for that. Go out and enjoy your car instead.

I downgraded to a VW, it's still German though
Forget about the money now. I own it, I love it, and I am about commit hari kari in front of it because I rubbed the front ever so slightly on a big parking space barricade. It isn't noticable, but I KNOW it is there. The pain is tremendous.

2002 C230K Coupe
I bougt mine in May this year. Its a Midnight blue(?) 2002 C230 with every available package (C1,2,3,7 and what not except Leather and Navigation) with 59,500 miles on it. I paid 10,500 and within two months had to spend 1100 bucks on alternator and front brakes and 500 on new front tyres which were worn on one side due to alignment problem. This was a private deal.

Bad alt at 60K miles? Hmmm....
I wonder why? Crossing my fingers...
still trying to get a rebuildable core from someone who had there's replaced.
Local shop rebuilds them for $150.
Brakes are constant, try ceramic they last longer,
tires are constant as well....
open wallet, buy tires....
Use the forum Luke...
and diy as much as possible.

don't look back if u purchase price was little high or low. You love the car or not is all that matters. The cheque is already made and you cannot take it back anyways.
Welcome aboard btw, now just look forward and see if you gonna mod ur car.

2005 C230K Sport Sedan, 6 speed manual
Instead, you got a quality Mercedes sport coupe. It looks great in the pictures. Good choice on the 6-speed manual transmission. I think you will enjoy driving it. The extended warranty will give you some additional peace of mind.
I have always liked the styling on the MB coupe.

Though i'd have to catch up on the wheel size, 18" isn't cutting in my eye.

Its best to sell your car private then doing a tradein. I got 6K more selling private then trading it in to the dealer. These cars depreciate so fast its best to buy used. Also craigslist is very good for listing your car mines sold quick. Ebay however if you want to sell it just put a No Reserve on your auction.

Your statement doesn't mean anything without a listing of the car and its equipment.
EDIT:
Nevermind. A little slow today. This member is another c230_617 alias. Sorry 'bout that.

i dont agree with kevblah at all- not with those figures at least. the car is simply worth much more than that. this is not a neon, where prices fall so quickly it'll take your shorts down with it. regardless of galls, black book, etc say for the car, there is wayyy too much of a gap between the generations of the car, year, availabiliity, desireability, class, and trade in price. im not car idiot who just looks at the rest of the market- i worked for a pontiac/gmc truck dealership, and i owned my own motorcycle shop/car dealership. pound for pound, dollar for dollar, the caliber of car is untouchable for the price. theyre retailing at 16K+ still, even 02's. i've done comparison pricing on different years and the figures are simply unrealistic.

I CANNOT BELIEVE PEOPLE SELL THEIR CARS AT THE DEALER.
WHY ????
You can get $2k=$4k more by selling on Craig's List.
Then use that money as a down payment.
Trading in your car is throwing money away. Give it to me I'll sell it for you, make some profit, and still give you more than what the dealer offered you...
