The C class trade-in value thread.

In one of his other posts he states that he has 28k miles on the car already. That will affect the trade in value. He forgot to mention it in this thread.

i still fail to understand why someone would trade anything in, in the first place. they are never going to give you anything good for it- as they have to in turn sell it to make a profit. a lot of people are fooled into deals because the dealer offers some great trade-in, but they won't budge off of the sticker price of the new car.
i would certainly venture a guess that the 28k miles on a car that's only a year old, is hurting the situation.

$16k seems a little bit low, even with 28k on the clock, I would think realistically it's worth $19k-$20k on trade at the present moment...the release of the new C-class and body style has hurt the older body styles.

Some of you are aware that my car was totaled. My car was in near perfect condition. '05 approx 35K miles, no accidents, 1 door ding, immaculate interior, etc, but no NAV., C55 18" rims....
My insurance pull up 17 comparable vehicles....low was 19K+ to 23K.
16K for an '07 even with that miles seems to be low.

C230k coupe 500sec convertible
Couldn't resist, had to buy another one!!!
Well,
The fiance's car (2002 grand am GT) started to have the classic american "accelerated engineered failure issues", so time for another car. My persuasion lead her towards mercedes and we found a remarkably well maintained 2002 c230 sportcoupe M111 with just over 60,000 miles on her just barely broke in-- for $11,000 i couldn't resist
so i will post pics but it is a nice mercedes metallic blue with oyster leather interior with bose, phone kit, c4 package, pano, (automatic) -- so basically my car in a different color and automatic--- add another mercedes to add to the lineup--
and get this she said she could "feel the difference in quality"
well going from a sable, to grand am se, to grand am GT, i guess that would be a great step up!!!!

$11G's is a steal! I paid $16 Grand for my 2002 C230 M111 in October '05 with 47,000 miles; I'd want more than $11G's for it now, if I was gonna sell!

Thanks for all the replies guys...
Im located in California (regarding the post above mine) and the reason why I want to trade my c class in for an accord is Im going to be commuting like 60 miles each way a day so about 120 miles a day and i need something thats a bit more gas friendly especially if you consider the gas prices these days.

yeah, i am going to take some side by side shots of it as soon as i get a chance, I think one of my couple kleeman pully's will be pulled out of my stock for her car--
one problem though, i need to get the transmission reset-- the adaptation was geared towards the 50yr old lady that owned before her---slow as hell off the line-- then the surge (will reset this as described in other posts)
anyone know if this has the same tsb as for the c32 (transmission software upgrade?)--i know it is the same transmission but had to ask

i was reading about those things in the latest motor trend. all of the micro cars kills me- only 40mpg. hell- my focus is 3x as big and gets 35mpg all day long. seems they should be able to get better mileage out of a gas engine.
i would be all over one of those little things if they could get the mileage up around 45-50. my friend has a honda crx that got 42'ish- that is old technology and larger.
