Confuse the Valet Driver with Start/Stop Button

I am a person who despises valet parking (note; don't let the valet park your car at Fairmont San Jose nor The Lodge Pebble Beach).

After complaining about valet parking to a friend, he gave he a secret tip, and a keyhole cover.

Since my vehicle is not equipped with Keyless Go and this fake Keyless Go button covers up the key hole, you can imagine the difficulty the valet is going to endure to start the car.

As an added benefit, all cars these days seem to be coming with Engine Start/Stop buttons (a la BMW). You can now have one too.

Thank god she doesn't have to start the 750; or stop the start sequence for that matter.

Yea, the start up check list might be a problem, but once she gets past it, the start sequence of a modern jet engine is embarrassingly easy.. Especially the MD11. On a DC-10 it took 11 switches (mostly on the FE panel), on the 11, it's 2.

Uhh, don't you pull up to a valet with the car running and the key still in the ignition? What kind of ghetto valet do you go to?

i fail to see the point. if you don't like valet parking then why the hell would you drive up to the valet??

park it yourself! I can imagine the look on your face when the valet guy pushes hard enough and the ignition key holder fall into the dash.

I don't let ANYONE else drive my car, especially some young valet punk. It kills me when I take my car in for service because I know they don't care or realize the car is low and has to be driven different than the ML they just parked.

whoa! im young, i valet! i understand where you guys are coming from becuase i was paranoid about letting valet drive my cars before i became one. hell, when i go out to a nice place with valet i wait until my car is parked before i go inside. i know youre just generalizing, but personally, i look after the mercedes/bmw/audi etc. as if it were my own. probably because i know the value to the cars and can appreciate the art of dodging potholes and know what it is like to drive a very low car...just saying that were not allll like that

You are the exception, my friend! But I don't even let my wife drive the car if I don't have to, so you gotta understand I'm just super paranoid. I honestly felt sick to my stomach waiting for them to pull my car up the other day when I was picking it up from being serviced.

haha, i know what you mean, one time i took the audi to be serviced and watched them run over a storm drain at about 30mph, bottoming out the car. needless to say, they got a piece of my mind!

I did some research about this part. Apparently, this part costs $48.

If anyone needs help acquiring some, check with your dealer. If your dealer doesn't have it, I've got a few extras.

Reminder, you should ask your dealer for your usual preferred client discount.
