Employing prototype hybrid technology, the German auto supplier on Thursday showed off a modified Mercedes C-Class Sport Coupe that boasts faster acceleration, more torque -- and better fuel economy -- than its gasoline-powered equivalent.
"This car will beat those muscle cars on Woodward off the line," Siemens spokesman David Ladd said at a media event.

Though I do worry that hybrids are really only efficient with CVTs, so we may slowly be seeing the end of manuals (not before I get my M3, hopefully).

I think I'll contact Siemens, find out if they are planning to show it elsewhere...I'd love to take a ride, or race it against my modifed M111

Interesting, but it doesn't seem like this is anything more than a tech demo for Siemens. Those new Li-Po batteries are extremely expensive and in short supply. I still prefer my V6K over a I4 + 2 electric motors.




At first I thought, maybe to keep it alive in the hearts and minds of Americans?
Then I thought, maybe because of it's vaguely similar styling to the Prenis?
