Steering Wheel Leather Finish

I climbed into my C320 coupe during a pouring rainstorm. the water on my hands caused the steering wheel to get kind of slimey. The next couple of days I noticed that it looks like the leather finish on the wheel had been compromised and it seemed stickey.

I read the articles on C class clearcoted leather, but couldn't find anything on restoring the leather finish. The MB dealer recomended McGuires. Is there in fact a product to restore the finish?

Thanks
Curtis

Same thing happening to me except on my center arm rest. It was raining and i got it wet, and now some kind of clear coat is peeling off

I need a way to clean it up or restore it!

Just take it to your local leather repair place and they will recondition it for you. I did this with an AMG wheel that had a wear mark. Cost $60 and they re-dyed it too.

I also think that at the MB dealership they have a repair formula. It's a gold-ish bottle/sprayer that says Interior Repair. Not exactly sure but I seem to remember that.

Question: What can you use to clean MB-Tex?

i have 2 w203 steering wheels if anyones interested....

#1 c320 01... khaki color.... was just recently taken off the car... very minimal wear.. clear coat is fine....

#2 c240 03-04 or newer..... khaki color also but different lighter shade than the 1st. this wheel was taken of the car a few weeks after new

.... asking 50 bucks.. + shipping.. removing and replacing your steering wheel takes like 10 minutes tops if you have the proper tools...

both wheels came off of sedans... email me for pictures

Leather Finish

the local MB dealer recomended McQuires Leather Preservative. Using the wipes I got a finish that has a little more shine than I would like, but the steering wheel is back to original. As for the shine, it's not too extreme. After doing the wheel, I decided to use it on the rest of the leather too.
