I have done this. I put amber bulbs in my fogs as God intended.

On the driver's side, you must replace the bulb from under the car. There is a panel just below the light. There is a seam between that panel and the one under the engine. Remove the screw between these two panels and fish your hand up through the crack (no need to remove the panels). You should feel the back of the bulb and....

Good luck!

Thats what I'm doing to. Amber lights are the best in fog and rain, well at least IMO. I will have to go get a metric socket set tomorrow, all i have is standard. OOPS! Thanks man

what color bulbs do they use in Europe now

Years ago, the headlights were this funky yellow and the fogs were white or amber. What color are they now? I have always liked amber fog lights, but never went through the drama to change them. Thanks for the input.

The fogs take a 9006 bulb. I purchased Philips All-Weathers from Fosmo.com or Auto-lamps.com, I can't remember which. The light is not intense yellow because it there is not really a color tinting to the bulb, but some other metalizing process that absorbs much less light than standard tinting. They are awesome.

I always wanted to do it, but it looks so complicated to find a way around the panals.

I just know how to do it on the coupe. It only took and about 15 minutws to do after I figured out what panel to remove. The big this was ground clearence. I had to drive my car up on some 1x8's to raise it up enough to get under it, or just use a jack. I would have used mine but I didnt feel like getting it out. You will need metric sockets 8mm and 11mm if i remember correctly. Email me if you need any help. there are also some pins that you can undo that will make it alot easier.

How do you remove the plastic pin in the inner fender panel ? I like to pull it out with brute force but I'm afraid I'm gonna break the pin.

One of the pins don't come out and don't need to come out. Second, even with my lowered car, I really didn';t need a jack, also, you don't need to remove those bolts. you can just bend the plastic piece outwards. I've replaced the fogs at least 6 times, going with different bulbs and colours to see how it would look.

Dachigga is right. You could probably accomplish putting them in without jacking up the car. Pull the front bumper forward a little and the plastic cover down and towards you (if you're looking up at the front bumper). At that point, you can stick your hand up and in between in order to reach the fog light. To take out the bulb, I believe it's a quarter turn counter clockwise.
