I'd like it dropped about an inch on my current wheels.

Looks like the tires are on the outside of the fender. What's your technique?

Here's my version:

There is no shortcut that I know of. What I do is select the wheel center with the elliptical marquee tool (takes some patience to get it exact), then "Image" > "Adjustments" > "Brightness/Contrast" and darken the selection and make some slight adjustments to contrast if necessary. I'm sure there are other ways, but I just started playing with it yesterday and found that it worked great for what I was trying to do.

I used the lasso tool and then just dropped it and then cropped the top of the picture so you wouldn't have double images.
*Whats wrong with the floor on your picture? Blurred out?

------To change color:
-Other ways that your can change color is to use the pen tool. But you have to practice with it because its really hard to use. Then you have to copy and paste to another layer and change the hue/saturation.

I think MJ50's right...too much time...

The downside of the way I learned to drop the car is that you're left with an area under the tire on the background layer that shows through. In my case, that left a non-shadowed area within the shadow so it looked funky. I haven't found a good technique yet for duplicating the shadow, so I either use the smudge or blur tools to try and make it look decent. Any tips?

duplicate the original pic onto another before with the good shadow and when finished edit merge back with shadow and ground. I think that would help

Just use the lasso tool and then just drag the image down. What you do is just lasso the car but not the wheels and drag down or the other whay like the wheels then drag up..

I would assume that way you can't lower far enough to tuck the top of the tires behind the fenders without it looking like the tires are outside the fender well?
