Trunk opening ?

I recently added an OEM C55 spoiler my question is after i added the spoiler when i pop my trunk it opens but it doesnt stay up unless i lift it. once its lifted it will stay up. Prior to the C55 spoiler the trunk will pop up by itself without manually lifting the trunk handle. Is it b/c the spoiler is too heavy??? or the shocks in the trunk are old??? i wonder if the dealer will replace the shocks since the spoiler didnt come with the car but the spoiler is OEM.

anyone else have this problem after adding a lip spoiler???

Just need to adjust the trunk springs. There is like 3 settings on them. Had the same problem with my 07 and the dealer adjusted them and it opens on its own again. Just pop the covers around the trunk hinges and you'll see the springs that need to be adjusted.

I think it is the middle setting. Only adjust it 1 notch at a time and see if it goes up. If you adjust your springs to tight, you can damage the hinges.
